It's not just a stote employee. My good friend who is a avid , has over 8000 figures , and heard it str8 from mattel themselves. He collects em above and beyond trust me no reason to pula that out of his asus. He has actually called mattel becuse of his store constantly getting napred baileys and shipped his back and they sent him a mint mint one back. So i know he not bsin ! What? Auto Correct. My friend is a manager at a super walmart in jersey, he kept getting warped baileys into his store he bought one and waited to they restocked for another. He got mattel directly to ship him one for his warped one. He also did it with a Cesaro elite , had a broken part of the trophy he sent it in and for it replaced. When he asked why do they all come warped its because its a thinner card , they are seeing how it goes for awhile. But , true stuff . Pol on here , not you, but a reason to complain or combat , dont know why but kudos to my friend for getting it done.

Another food for thought, went hunting and noticed every basic set from 56 and up , 2016 especially all the cards are not neccasarily creased , but warped ! Slopeing upward especially those red Mattel wal Mart cases they put out Mania week! I have a friend Works for Wal-Mart and target and they said that when a set is re released or its the 2 to 3rd shipment , its not their delivery truck but Mattel just shipped warped cards. They said Mattel is in a trial with the less thick cardboard for packaging and may go back to the thicker cards! Walmart Transportation isn't at fault here.

Walmarts trucks are sub contracted, companies like conway, frieghts inc., etc. They get it from mattel factory . Idk if it gets damaged from mattels wherehouse or on the transport, but every shipment was comming in like that, so he Called em directly and for someone on the phone and for em to exchange it. Now he did it before with the Cesaro elite with the andré battle royal statue and třied it again .

Pol on here , not you, but a reason to complain or combat , dont know why but kudos to my friend for getting it done. I can tell you from personally having to talk to a Walmart employee, that they ( at my walmart) shoved the box display of current Basics/ Then Now Forever figures into its shelf space that had barely enough clearance, which caused each figure with overhead to have a bend in the card. Only the top shelf was safe. I told him that these are a product being sold by his employer, and he needs to respect every iten to gwt the upmost current price from the consumer. Damage results in either reverse logistics or a customer getting it at a discounted price. I got the "whatever" from him but also let him know there are collectors that range in age that like to keep figures in their packages and they must be perfect for their taste. I got a "Yeah, the ebayers?" I blame retail chain negligence every time. I have worked at Target and Toys R Us. I see it everywhere.

The new cards look great but are beat to crap for some reason. Also, I'm now seeing issues with plastic bubbles that are just falling off the cards because there's no glue. They haven't been tampered with or anything, there's just no glue holding the plastic bubble to the card.

Huh, I was about to post that I thought the cards looked great. They stand out on the pegs and the color-coding on the name labels is nice. But I'm a loose collector, so I don't really have any thoughts on how durable they are.

I fail to believe that mattel would take back a figure due to a warped card, and would send another mint on in return...... sorry.. Well Believe what u want. Sorry u don't but it happend i don't have to worry bout u not believing it. Simply put, its not a defective product. It's not going to happen. Sorry you feel the need to tell stories here to try and impress people.

Funny other than a replacement of a Blue's Clues Steve figure from one of my daughter's toys some 12-15 years ago I have never heard of Mattel sending a replacement for any of the Mattel lines I collect. Every time I have contacted them with an issue they just send a voucher for the cost. And I really can't see them doing it for a bent card.

I got a bent card, I want a new mint one.... they send it... it gets to the person bent due to shipping.... I want another, this one is bent too.......

BOTH times I felt I needed to contact Mattel, I was told it was a retailer issue, that Mattel doesn't keep a a stash of good figures to exchange for bad ones, and then they've sent a voucher for the purchase price.

WalMart gets the shippers/display cubes directly from Mattel. But any other product is shipped to WalMarts distribution centers/warehouses across the country and then they ship it to the stores in their districts.

I'm a loose collector but I keep the packaging, the best card for elites were 25-31 and the best for basics were the ones used in series 36.

They come out of the case mangled sometimes, I've stocked quite a few and every now and then out of a bunch of perfect cards, 1-3 will be creased down the center or dog-eared, this is only the basics though, it must something happening as they're put into cases, I guess? I'm a 99% loose collector though, so I don't really mind.

I'm a loose collector as well, and I actually keep the packaging they come in. Idk why though.

I love the poor conditions of packaging. The worse the better. I will take them to the register and pretend I am a MOC collector and ask if they can offer a discount based on the condition. Cashier will call over a manager and usually get anywhere from 10-25% off. Then go home and rip the figure out and throw away the box.

Id call your friend out. Its usually the man handling of the walmart warehouse or actual store workers. And theres no way a store employee knows anything about future packaging It's not just a stote employee. Ummm, no. When figures are actually BROKEN, Mattel will only issue you a voucher for the retail cost. There is no way they have some special locked away airtight room with each figure in a special case to keep it pristine just to ship out to some guy who is pissed because the box his figure came in is a little bent. You know what Mattel would actually say? "We sell figures, not packaging"...and rightly so. Sooo...you're a liar who pulls a fast one to save a buck or two? Oh...you'll go far here kid! What are you going to do when you run into the manager who also collects and asks you why you'd be ok with a mangled box when you only collect MOC just because it's two dollars cheaper? Why not just be straight up and ask for a discount because the packaging is ruined and/or looks opened? There's no reason to lie.

My issue is that figure prices will always go up, not down. But companies do these cost saving things all the time. It does take away from the quality of the overall product.
