I think I have read most all of the rules to make sure this is OK. If I missed it up, I really am sorry for that. I did try to go through most everything and couldn't find anything about this. I also did a forum search to see if this has been asked recently, since I assume that Kurt Angle has a lot of customs made lately.... anyway!
I wanted to try to make an Elite-style custom. I've done little fix-ups and repaints and part swaps etc. here and there, but nothing too crazy in the least bit. I like the Elite figures and have been looking into trying to customize them. Right now and for a good while now, I customize/work(ed) with those Nintendo figures, amiibo... I like to customize those, personally, but am more and more drawn to the idea of WWE/Mattel figures/customs again as I have improved w/ the other stuff I've worked on for awhile now and gotten a lot better than when I began, from sculpting to painting, etc.
I have a TON (and I mean TON) of Kurt Angle accessories in my possession. I've thought of selling them and tried to before, but likely am asking for too much since I'm not in a rush to let them go unless I am blown away. Anyway, I finally decided that I want to find a custom fodder/body that fits the Angle type of body/mold.
I mean, after I saw freakin' Walgreen's sells Elite figures now (which means they're probably easier to find in a lot of stores compared to 10 yrs ago when I still collected Jakks line, right as TTL was ending I lost interest... so more like 15 yrs now honestly, right around 2001 is when I stopped buying them I think..and when the R3 figures came out, was that 03? ah well doesn't matter).... I figure that it shouldn't be too hard to hunt down a mold that looks like Angle and wouldn't be really annoying to repaint and fix up, etc. based on its own attire and whatnot.
Does anybody have not really a recipe, but more so even some suggestions for body types from Mattel elite figures (cheaper the better obviously.... I don't want to buy and customize a pricey one) that would work well for a *Kurt Angle mold?
*I would like to make an old-school or 'attitude era' Angle since a lot of the fodder I have fits that era best. His body did get bigger, so just keeping that in mind, I wanted to mention my main preference would be to make something from his earlier years on RAW compared to how big he looks now. But suggestions for both his older look and new look would be appreciated, honestly. If I made one and it came out nice I'm sure I'd try another.
