Hi Guys,

I am having a bit of a struggle choosing a new tv

It will be watched most by my daughter for Disney movies etc and then for those glorious hours when I get to watch football (I think it is motion rate/hz I need to look out for - if I remember correctly) and also for the WWE network. I watch it via a PS3 and its terrible. I am hoping a smart tv will help with the Network

Any chance the more tech savvy among you could help me pick between the below?

£449 - LG 49UF640V 49 Inch 4K Ultra HD Freeview HD Smart TV (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3908271.htm) - the description says motion rate is 1000hz but then in the Q&A says it is infact the PMI that is 1000 - I cannot find an 'exchange rate' to compare regular hz to pmi

£449 - LG 49UF680V Smart 4k Ultra HD 49" LED TV - www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/televisions/televisions/lg-49uf680v-smart-4k-ultra-hd-49-led-tv-10135234-pdt.html - edgelit, does that matter? it also says the pmi is 1000 and the hz is 1000, maybe the above is also?

If you have any other ideas (there are so many options out there!) I am looking for a 4k, smart, 50" ish for about £500

I think it's written in the manuel, that if in doubt about what TV to buy, go on a wrestling forum......

I got one of the last Panasonic Plasma's made, which craps on 90% of LEDS. You need high motion rate for football or you get ghosting.

You are never going to get great HD on network if thats what you are expecting.

HDTVTEST is a very good website for reviews.

To be honest since becoming a dad 3 years ago I barely go on the internet and this was the only forum I am registered on! I still go on wrestlingfigs to check the figure news but it's for my daughter more than me now

I went in Currys PC World to spend about £1,000 or more on a half decent 4K tv, came out with a non 4K Sony Bravia, 50". It was about £600 of i remember rightly, it's the nuts, picture quality is spot on, smart features run smoothly.
Check out the Sony Bravias you won't be disappointed
