Yeah, I though this would be an interesting topic, if the season started today who would be your top 10 players. Mine would be:
1. LaDainian Tomlinson 2. Peyton Manning 3. Willis McGahee 4. Shaun Alexander 5. Priest Holmes 6. Edgerrin James 7. Randy Moss 8. Jamal Lewis 9. Corey Dillon 10. Daunte Culpepper

1. Shaun Alexander 2. Priest Holmes [only because his O Line is infested with Pro Bowlers] 3. Corey F'N Dillon 4. Peyton Manning 5. Randy Moss 6. Daunte Culpepper 7. L.T 2 8. Chad Johnson 9. Michael Clayton 10. Mike Vick 11. Keary Colbert
For a rookie, Troy Williamson or Cadillac Williams. Judging from the first round, since I am not gonna memorize all of the players selected from rounds 1-7.
If undrafted, Brandon Bowner or Ernest Shazor.

i <3 you for putting colbert. i dont think he'll be THAT good yet, yet... but in 2-3 years, look out. what have i been saying since 2003? HINES WARD JR, people.
im surprised at the lack of Westbrook. am i homer? hmm. he missed 4 games last year, and still racked up 1,500 total yards 9 total TD's. with shawn andrews back on the line, and a healthy supporting cast at RB, he'll get more carries and probably more goal line oppurtunities(most of which went to dorsey levens last year).
i think the #1 WR though is Hines Ward. arguably a top-5 fantasy WR the last few years, he no longer has the patended deep ball receiver next to him, Plaxico Burress. this means, atleast in the early portion of the season, Hines Ward will be their sole threat in the redzone. Randel El hasnt yet established himself as a true threat in that area.

Judging by the way Philadelphia's off-season has gone, I want nothing to do with them right now. Unless Owens is back on the team and all is well between him & McNabb, I probably wouldn't draft a single Eagle in the top few rounds, Westbrook included. I like Westbrook A LOT as a player, but I feel that his success will be limited without the eyes being on Owens. As far as Ward goes, he's one of my favorite players, but he's kind of ed me in previous seasons when I've taken him early. I think Burress was helpful to his success, especially in the end-zone. While he may be the sole receiving threat in the red-zone, the Steelers are still a running team at heart. Most of their TD's, in my opinion, will come on the ground.

Colbert I have a feeling will take over the spot left my Muhammed. He has big play ability, and can overshadow possibly Steve Smith in the upcoming year. Him, with Jeb Putzier, and Mewelde Moore, on my current list of emerging superstars next year. Colbert in his 2nd year, I truly feel can show some 'Mossness'.

I remember when the ESPN Sunday Night Broadcasters would bitch about Hines Ward dropping balls from left to right back in 2002.
Plaxico was the key to that Steelers offense. He has drawn double coverages for the past 3 seasons. He gave Hines great matchups.

Are you forgetting 2003? I can remember numerous occasions in 03 where he was double covered after his 2002 year. He opened up the chance for Hines to make big plays in 03.

the most overrated player in fantasy football, so far this year? willis mcgahee. i've seen him go 3rd overall in drafts, over more proven offensive dynamos.
i like willis... hes a tough runner, and if he stays healthy he'll get 300+ carries(especially with the unsure QB situation in buffalo). but mcgahee over ladainian tomlinson, rudi johnson, edgerrin james, shaun alexander, and priest holmes is crazy

- Priest Holmes can kiss my ass. - Rudi Johnson is on a team that is still going to pass the ball as much as they run, regardless of if Carson Palmer is a giant tool. - Edgerrin James is a running back on the most highly pass-oriented team in the league. He had a good season last year, but I don't consider him to necessarily be a better pick than McGahee.
Other than that, I think I agree, Tim. I don't think McGahee is going to put up better numbers than Alexander or Tomlinson. I would, however, continue to put him in my top-10 based on the fact that he really could end up leading the league in carries.
