Mattel proved with the Macho Jacket they could do it properly and have it look great. I dont understand with this figure, everything about this figure is equivalent of a gloried Elite Figure, why are we paying $7-$8 more.... just because of packaging? I'm not a big fan of the rubber jackets, they are ok if your MOC collector, but for lose collectors I have no use for it (cause the arms are just always in an awkward position), and for kids (like my nephew) they tear them off and never put them back on because they are to tough. What if they did a macho like jacket but rather then having the separate tassels, you just make them look separate and have it actually one piece (like the rubber jacket has), you could simulate the the separate tassels with simple stitching. I'm just confused why its being said that the tassels are a choking hazard when you look at something like the Barbie line, they come with half a dozen items that could be actual choking hazards in every pack. (Having a 6 year old and an infant i'm well aware of this fact). If they have no intention on making the stuff (like these jackets or robes), I wish someone could get a license and sell it separately (legally) I dont get why some posters cant grasp the concept of safety guidelines. Mattel (as well as every other company) have to adhere to the standards of the united states child safety protection act, as well as their own.. They do tests to determine if a product fall under that small parts rule, which requires the company to ad a choking hazad stickers to the packaging. (Which im sure are on some already) Bill just did his job. New molds and headscans and paint apps made this a dm not an elite.

I have an idea, use the cloth version of the bash Sting jacket provided by Ralph's or Jakks, cut the bulky cloth collar off, and cut off and glue on the plastic collar and shoulder tassels on to the cloth one...I wonder how that would look. I'd like to see an attempt in the fix up thread of this idea. The Jakks jacket used for the RSC American Sting got the red and white stripes of the sleeve wrong. They should run the length of the arm (North/South) not across the arm.(East/West) This picture is the very reason soft goods jackets shouldn't be used, it looks utterly ridiculous, embarrassing in fact

Sometimes I think I just like to moan but the truth is that Mattel just ask for it when they make these decisions. I was hoping for the same material they used for DM Macho, so im scratching my head why they went with the cheaper hideous rubber moulded jacket. Its brutal, Im sorry its just God awful, it restricts articulation, and to have rubber tassels with no flexibility its not acceptable for a defining moments figure. Sorry, I just need to make Mattel aware of this in the hope that they dont continue this awful trend of cheapness. Why are we not bashing them more for this figure? This is a defining moment figure I dont see enough uproar on here, Mattel do a good job with their figures and I wouldnt collect them otherwise but when they drop the ball on decisions like this it baffles me, it really does. I'm not reading through four pages to see if someone has already said it, but this has a simple reply, directly from Bill at Mattel. Jacket being molded was an aesthetic decision based on the facts 1) Sting's arm streamers were much thinner and more numerous than Macho Man's. If I used a SG jacket he would have streamers the same size as Macho Man's, which I did not want (they have to be a certain size to avoid choking hazards, no way around it). 2) I would also have lost the epaulets on the shoulders. If I would have produced a SG jacket with wide arm streamers and no shoulder epaulets I would have heard the feedback as well I am sure. That's the thread ending answer.

I kind of want the Defining Moments line to die. I can't justify $30 for one figure and have it come with clunky plastic as its sole accessory. Then don't buy it. Why would you want it gone, everyone that is fine with paying $25 for it wouldn't have it anymore.

It looks cheap, baggy and loose, faded, it lacks detail, the red in the stripes on the arm has seeped into the White and it generally looks like crap. Pretty much all figure clothing I've seen looks too big, there are some really good tshirts available on eBay, but that's it. The rubber jacket on Sting looks infinitely better than that Jakks monstrosity

The safety guideline excuse is laughable imo. And, no, people would not complain either way. Another laughable defense.

It's an elite line figure with minimum deco and an awful scan that looks nothing like Sting. The legs look too skinny and weird. I don't display figs, so the plastic coat is useless to me. I won't pay full price for it. If it drops to regular elite price, I'll get it. But not for 25 bucks.

My only gripe is that it just feels like this should have been a normal Flashback figure. I don't care either way since I'll wait for an Amazon sale.

I realized most of those things, but I meant cloth accessories as a whole. It was made by Jakks, so I expect errors like those

Look at the shelf at your local stores and they have tons of DM figures cuz they're not as good as the early DM figures. It's MY opinion.

I love how everyone on here bashes Mattel for stuff like this. Be glad you got the figure This be glad we got something attitude is the reason Mattel flakes on these premium figures and why we get elites with "authentic attire" and "includes knee pads" as an accessory. I'm voting with my wallet and spending my money elsewhere. Mattel needs to point blank step up there game.
