People are forgetting the amount of market saturation, name recognition, and overall production turnaround time that Mattel has. WWE went to Mattel because it's one of the biggest toy companies in the world. Their toy lines are available in just about every store in North America. New WWE figures are in stores every 2 months or less. Mattel will advertise said figures on every network with kids programming. Saying Mattel needs to worry about Figuarts is like saying WWE had to worry about ECW back in the day. Plus that price point is not aimed for kids which you need if you want the line to grow & survive. If we know it's a hard sell for kids to ask for a 20 dollar elite, imagine asking for 30-50 dollar toy during non-Christmas time. And they would had to sell a mega crap ton just to fund more series if kids are out of the picture. These figures are meant for serious collectors who don't mind the wait time and price. I'm not seeing the supposed game changers unless you're talking about the extra hands and heads. With all that in mind, I would love if Figuarts struck a deal with New Japan to makes figures for them.

Some of you are forgetting that the wwe product is aimed towards kids. They're not gonna ditch mattel (the leading toy company) and jump ship to a collectors only line.
Wwe want a presence at mass retail. You wont go into walmart and find these. You'll have to order them or find them at a specialty shop
Look at these as an attraction figure, sort of like the mcfarlane statues.

We can only hope that Toys'r'us gets froggy and decides to put one of those on their shelves. They've had the SH Figuarts Red Shinkenger/Samurai Ranger on their shelf in the past. But yes, these are indeed attraction figures. It's like getting that collectors edition bluray season for the hardcore fan. They were never going to appeal to the casuals.

20 years ago if people could look at an Elite they would say the same thing we say now about Figuarts. "No way they can produce those as a mainstream line", "those will cost a fortune", "my BCA do just fine, i wont be buying those". Same goes here. Figuarts are 10 years ahead of their time. But make no mistake. That IS the future. And Mattel just gained a lot of weight on their shoulders until their contract runs over. Disagreed. Mattels are 30 dollars at most and their regular lines are 10-20. One figure that isn't even an exclusive like RSC by Figuarts is about 50 dollars. If Mattel makes however many figures they make a year and each elite is 20 dollars, they should have no fear. I also guess that you haven't seen the Hasbro Star Wars Black Series or Marvel Legends. Figma and Figuarts have been making figures for Star Wars and Marvel for years, and the main lines don't suffer at all because they're making guys Figuarts will never make and they are cheaper. As i stated. Matter of time. 10 years ahead of their time. Either we are talking about wwe, star wars, marvel or even Bob the builder.

I think both sides of this are taking things to the extreme. Figuarts are not going to replace Mattels, and the company doesn't have much to to fear from them on the grand scale. However, I do think they'll make a slight dent in the collector market if the line lasts long enough./is diverse enough.

SHF isn't going to replace Mattel. End of story.
They will, however, produce quality figures at a higher price point that, figure for figure, will likely be superior to Mattel's Elite figures. Whether a collector will buy it or not is up to the collector. Has nothing to do with how poor someone is or whether Mattel is better because there are more readily available.
Also, why would a Japanese import company be regularly talked about on a Mattel board? Give it its own board if it generates that much steam. Which, for the record, I doubt it will, at least on this forum. Especially judging from some of the backlash it's gotten in this thread, in spite of absolutely nobody having the figures to even make a judgment.
That said, it's basically all up to Ringside. If they decide "crap, we can't make money on Tamashii stuff - we won't sell it, so WF can't talk about it," then that's basically that. Look no further than Fig***s T** Compa** and the recent decision to wash any mention of that entire company from the boards.
Point is, I'm not sure why anyone would be upset about these SHFs coming out. Import collectors will likely love them, and Mattel purists will still have all their Elite figures readily available domestically. Then there are people like me who collect Mattel's line as well as imports, who can appreciate both for what they offer.
Literally NO ONE loses in this situation.

But they have got you talking about them?.. Well...Yeah. I've been talking about them since I first saw them on Facebook. As I said, I'm a fan of Mattel's figures AND SH Figuarts' stuff. My point was the fact that there's no reason to talk about Figuarts on a Mattel board. Give the import stuff its own board if it really gets a lot of traction.

Yo Captain, I know the wwe figuarts wont be part of jWf due to the scales but will you do expirimental animations with them since the atriculation is almost unlimited?

I love how people are like "they are too expensive. Besides, they look stupid." It's like they outted themselves for being poor and then they try to cover it up. These figures are superior to Mattel and only rivaled by Figma. The final product will speak for itself. The real question is if WFIGS will allow Figuarts and Mattel co-exist on the boards or if Figuarts will be subjected to "other toys" or "other wrestling figures". Best way to keep generating interest (and more figures) is to keep Figuarts on this board in hopes to draw in new collectors. Well, since this isn't a Mattel line, I would be 100 percent fine with it not being on the Mattel section. Because it doesn't belong here. So you can go put down Mattel somewhere else. And the dumb ass stuff about people being poor? Do you know how much money I have spent on wrestling figures? Do you know how much others here have spent on their collections? Just because somebody doesn't want to buy $50 wrestling figures, it doesn't mean they're poor - it means they don't think figures are worth that much. Wow, you've been here less than a month and are already trolling. Welcome to the block list, clown. You quoted me and tried to persuade my opinion and argue your point. Way I see it, you're trolling me, junior. LOL, even though I don't agree with his logic, he's got a point. I usual scroll past statement I don't agree with, it's easier to navigate the forums and remain on good terms with most people. Still this banter was worth a good laugh!

I might have missed it, but have they said when these are set for pre-order or when a rough timetable for the release is?

This is the only way I'd buy wrestling figures again. I already buy most of their anime figures, so my expectations are pretty high for these.
