That's good for Cody. But this can go in with the Cody Rhodes thread.

Maybe a list of people he wants to wrestle? Can he not wrestle until 8/19?

Maybe a list of people he wants to wrestle? That was my guess, too. Most of those would be possible with a deal with ROH. Cole, Castle, Hero, The Bucks, Lee, Shibata, and Strong are all working for either ROH, PWG, or NJPW, who all have a working relationship. Mike Bennett, Angle and the others would be a little more difficult. I'm guessing he freelances and does all of those matches in either PWG or New Japan.

I was gonna make a seperate thread on this, but I think this can go here. A former WWE writer got on someones talk show and talked about why WWE didn't have Stardust go back to Cody Rhodes. If this is the truth, then it makes me sick.

So that's fully possible.

I hope by "The Streamers Thing" he means Japan and not the lame, cheap-ass-Party-City streamers that the ROH fans use.

If this is the truth, then it makes me sick. I think the reason was that Vince McMahon as well as Kevin Dunn and Michael "P.S." Hayes felt that Cody Rhodes was too boring and the fact that they never did liked his father Dusty as well (Dusty ran NWA in the 1980s which happened to be WWF's archrival promotion at the time). In addition, McMahon poked fun at Dusty by having The One Man Gang repackaged as Akeem, The African Dream (a takeoff on Dusty's moniker "The American Dream), named Ted DiBiase's lackey Virgil (which happened to be Dusty's real first name) as well as having Bruce Prichard playing a cowboy wrestler named Reo Rodgers who sounded a lot like Dusty. I also heard that WWE wanted Cody to dye his hair hair platinum blond just like his brother Goldust as well as having Cody wearing a different-colored (red, blue, pink, purple, green, teal, etc.) long-haired wig to the ring as part of his entrance just like Goldust did when he wore a blond wig to the ring back in the day.

Hope he does well, especially against Shibata.

Yeah, they gave Dusty crap, but they obviously also respected the hell out of him. No one forced them to keep him employed all that time. And if WWE really wanted Cody to do that stuff (while he was still on the payroll), he would have done it. One thing you can say for sure about Cody is that he always did what was asked of him, and always gave it 100%. I was gonna make a seperate thread on this, but I think this can go here.
