An ever-so-important accessory in some cases that never gets much mention, I think sunglasses can take a figure to another level. When a figure has its glasses on it becomes less of a kids smack-around toy in my view. Sometimes the figure in glasses just looks much more real.
Sometimes the glasses aren't great.
My question is what makes Mattel decide whether to have the figure with the glasses accessory on or off when inside the package? I thought at first they would be displayed separate from the figure more in the future just because of Mattel sales logic. Maybe it's just the HOF line that'll have the glasses on. Jimmy hart had his on. Nasty boys didn't. e38 macho man doesn't have them on but hof3 macho king does.
The reason I bring this up now, despite thinking of it for a while, is the elite 43 hart foundation. Bret looks better with the glasses off and anvil looks better with them on, yet both are in the package without them on. I would've much preferred anvil with them on.
This is what I think... IRS glasses suck. Godfather glasses are excellent. I like the nasty boys glasses even though they don't sit easily on the figures. Jimmy harts glasses fit perfectly. Rsc Nash's glasses aren't great tbo. I'm a big fan of the macho man glasses. ....Rick Martel glasses are ok I guess... Tell me about how you feel about the ones I've forgotten to mention.

Slaughter's glasses look great with the hat on. But too big with the hat off.

The one that go into hair are good. The ones that go into the hair are good, your right. They just seem to fit together better that way. Sometimes it makes the figure look weird without the glasses though because of the holes.

Big Boss Man's aviators look weird but still better with them on covering up that horrible scan. E20 Christian may be my favorite. They look great and fit perfectly. E13 Edge are good too.

Most of the figs I have with sunglasses fit since those with longer hair have the little gaps to feed them through (RSC HBK, Bret Hart, E20 Christian, etc) but the biggest fails are Rikishi (I just display him holding them) and IRS.

Yes, the glasses can cover up a face scan that's just a bit off. Bossman's is a good example. And neidhart now also.

My favourite pair was JTG's but I lost mine as they flew off its head, Elite 4 Morrison's are pretty good as they stay on my TLC basic fine, I think Adam Roses are good too but the best are probably Elite 37 Miz as they are just generic and fit perfectly.

They fit perfect

Flashback Christian's glasses were abysmal, they sit crookedly on the figures' head.
Elite Adam Rose's glasses kinda popped out every chance they got too.

Loose collector weighing in here. I hate the glasses being on in the package. It may possibly be friction related but it definitely is a case of covering flaws where I can't see them. Elite 33 Batista? Janky eye and scuffed brow were hidden from my sight until I opened it. Bought Elite 10 John Morrison and it had sloth eye. My elite 8 Edge looked cross-eyed. The eyes are the most important selling feature on a toy in my opinion, likenesses are made and broken by them. Many Mattel figures suffer from poor eye application. Anything that blocks that from being seen sucks in my opinion.
But I get where MOC collectors would be coming from.

I'm just upset that the BP41 Dudley Boys aren't coming with their glasses. Anybody have some suggestions for them from what we already have?
