Just be patient. There aren't many big names left for Mattel to snag. I bet we'll get him eventually. There's a guy and his name is Ken Shamrock and if Bill could get the go ahead to make him, I'd be his best friend. I've made this declaration and that's huge.

I really hope they make a new mold for him. Unlikely I know I just don't want a Elite Bautista with a Goldberg head.

they should include 3 belts with Goldberg. wcw world and us belts and wwe belt ...the thing is, the WWE belt he won was the "big gold" - the same as the WCW one. Ideally, they could make a DM Goldberg like the recent DM Austin with 3 belts: the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the United States championship and the WCW Tag-team championship. Although I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Mattel don't have the rights to make WCW belts...

Really wish they had booked him against Austin, and Austin had kicked his ass. He was the absolute worst thing about WCW. That said, he deserves a figure, but I believe (almost) everybody does. With rare exception. He's like the biggest homegrown WCW star and was made an unstoppable beast. I don't think it'd be smart to have him squashed by Austin. Well, it never happened, so ehh. Though WWE is still driving home the fact that they wone the Monday Night Wars, look no further than Sting losing to Triple H ar Wrestlemania.

Goldberg was my favorite growing up until I made the switch from WCW to WWF. Then Rock and Austin were obviously better. I always thought Goldberg got a little too much criticism. The guy was one of the most popular wrestlers in history. His flaws were obvious, but the guy had a presence about him that very few wrestlers have today and he was one of the strongest men to ever do it. I put him right there with the Ultimate Warrior in terms of all time greats, I think the two are very comparable. As for a figure? Jakks made some pretty good ones, but I would love a WCW figure with the U.S and World titles. Crazy to think he was only a two time world champion, once in WCW and once in WWE. Roman Reigns has already won more world titles than Goldberg, go figure.

I have a feeling Goldberg will warm hard. A majority of the people on this board will likely buy him, myself included. But we only make up a small portion of the overall customer base. There's nothing about the figure that stands out. He wore black trunks and boots. He didn't have any entrance attire. I suppose Mattel could include a Who's Next T-Shirt but doubt that would have any influence over if the average customer will buy him or not. He'll likely come with a Big Gold Belt. Again, not sure if anyone will buy him for the belt since there are plenty already out there and that title hasn't been used on TV in a while. And he was a polarizing character. Not everyone liked him. A lot of people hated him. And after the streak ended his popularity faded fast. I could be wrong but I have a feeling a lot of people will not have any interest in him.

I wouldn't say it'll fly off shelves like macho man, but I wouldn't expect it to warm hard either.

I know all the workrate kids love to sh1!t on Goldberg but for a period in time that man went toe-to-toe and was as big as Austin and The Rock. He was a freak of an athlete and for a brief period, was literally one of the biggest stars in the whole of wrestling. Hell yeah we need a figure of the guy.

Why do former/retired wrestlers have to have a legends deal to make a mattel figure ??
I really want a goldberg elite figure, i am willing to pay $25-$30 for it to be a defining moment/ringside exclusive.
Goldberg's dvd which was just a match collection outsold hhh dvd released that year by a 2 to 1 margin and was the best selling wwe dvd that year.
Make a goldberg figure of any kind and i will buy 3 of them. If mattel would bend these stupid legend deal rules once this would be the guy to do it for...
If I'm Bill Goldberg and mattel calls me and says "hey bill we want to make action figures of you from your wcw/wwe days and pay you".
I'm guessing his response would be "is wwe/vince involved in any way ?" and if the answer would be no, i think he would be ok making some extra dough.

Mattel has a contract with WWE so they couldn't just randomly make a figure and not include in the WWE line. If Neca, Jakks, McFarlane, Hasbro, etc called Goldberg and offered to make a figure then they could and not involve Vince or WWE as long as the figure they produce doesn't infringe on any copyrights they hold on the character or likeness. I believe if Mattel wanted to they could pursue Goldberg with WWE's permission and sign him to their own deal like they did early on and how 2K Sports signs their own guys to appear in their games. However, that is no longer something Mattel is willing to spend the money on so they choose to only include wrestlers signed by WWE to some sort of merchandising deal.

Well, Bill has already said they don't have the rights to Goldberg just hours after the commercial aired. And as far as a DM goes the only US title and World title Mattel will make are the WWE versions. Bill has said numerous times they don't have the rights to the WCW titles.

Was never a big fan of his but to say he would warm is crazy. Dean Malenko and the Outsiders battle pack flew off shelves in New York. I think there is more demand for WcW guys than most early 90s WWF characters
