So I was just scrolling through Facebook and came across a clip from a recent house show of Seth Rollins hitting AJ Styles with a Vertabreaker. I can't post the video here because I don't have a Twitter but you can check it out on there. I REALLY hope they let him hit it on TV because it's been TOO long since that move was used on a big stage. Check it out if you want, it was ing bad ass. If they let him use this and the pedigree as his finishers I'll finally be able to get over the whole Curb Stomp thing...

So they're not letting him use the Curb Stomp, but now they're letting him use an equally as dangerous move inside the ring as well as would be for those who try this at home?
Good call, WWE. I'd rather the Skywalker.

I guess I'd say if I got to choose between it and the stomp I'd want the stomp. As Rollins probably couldn't safely use the Vertabreaker on guys like Brock, Rusev, Sheamus etc I bet Seth and AJ are shredding it up on the house shows

the curb stomp, i swear, is all about the name. they may claim that the move itself can be too easily replicated but we all know that there are dozens of other moves in that case. i think it's about a dreaded news headline that they'd rather avoid, something like "curb stomp, a disturbing violent action that killed a young boy today, may have been seen originally on wrestling show"...obviously far shorter haha.
the late 90s/early 2000s were hard on wwe. there's a reason we don't have chair shots any more or any shots to the head from other weapons - it's not because they're unsafe, that's only half of it. people can properly block chair shots, yet they banned headshots all together. why? so that the number of overall shots to the head annually have dropped to an insignificant basis making more likely to be tolerated by these parental organizations.

Wow, that's strange. Wonder how Homicide feels about that one, haha.

Yeah I really doubt it but it looks like he picked up the win with it.....can't tell for sure. Never mind, I just watched that one. The one I saw was cut short.

I don't care what anyone says. No one will ever convince me that the curb stomp is more dangerous than this.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is re-banned before ever making it to TV.

Curb stomp was not banned for being "too dangerous", it's been covered numerous times, they didn't want kids doing it to each other.

"Kids, we here at World Wrestling Entertainment would advise you not to do such dangerous moves as the curb stomp - which drives a man's face into the ground, but opt to do the vertabreaker - driving a man's head and neck into the ground. We thank you for this time." - Vince McMahon

The thing with the Curb Stomp is that it is easy for kids to imitate it. The Vertabreaker really isn't.
With that being said, that move was always a touchy move for the WWE. Hurricane/Helms had to stop doing it and IIRC, nobody has did it since other than Rollins in these Live Event. I would love it if Rollins could take it on as a Special Rare move to do on smaller guys like Styles though. It's a GOAT-tier move for sure.

If he started using it like he uses the Pheonix Splash then I'd be perfectly fine with that. Move the Pheonix Splash to his secondary Finisher after the Pedigree and use the Vertabreaker how he uses he PS now.

Alright, I'm going to say it. Guys have been injured in matches against Rollins when he was using moves that aren't potentially paralyzing. This is way too risky.
