Shame to hear. He's the reason I still say "ten" with a southern accent.

Damn.
I just watched Varsity Blues for the first time two weeks ago and fell in love with it.
This is a real shame.
RIP Ron "Billy Bob" Lester

I liked him as Spatch in Good Burger. R.I.P.

Ah, that's a shame. He was in Varsity Blues and Not Another Teen Movie as essentially the same character, but I enjoyed his portrayal regardless.
R.I.P.

Rest in peace, Ron. I only watched him in Good Burger, but this news is still sad to hear.

Very sad news. But I can't say it's surprising. In spite of his massive weight loss, all those years of hundreds of extra pounds was permanent damage:
1) Obesity = Increased angiogenesis (creation of blood vessels) to supply oxygen to the added tissue of the body 2) Increased angiogenesis = Harder pumping of the heart to get blood where it is needed 3) Increased body fat = Further increase in the heart's work due to fat impinging on blood vessels 4) Circulation system as a whole becomes stressed and overworked 5) Progressive insulin resistance (and eventually diabetes) 6) Decrease in lifespan of body organs
I feel sad for the man. He got rid of the weight. But it was borrowed time in the end. RIP.
