Shocked to see so many people against a Stevie return.
He is a former multiple time World Champion, and won the 2004 Royal Rumble..

stevie richards? seriously? fan of him but he's not exactly a spring chicken. He's old, but it's weird, he's like Billy Gunn and Goldust where he's in the best shape of his life and better now in the ring than he's ever been. I still don't see what WWE would do with him when apparently they weren't creative enough to find spots for guys like Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes......but we'll have to wait and see.

They're bringing most of these guys back to be jobbers to the midcarders, which is probably why there's heat against Cody. Now they have to go get another comedy jobber. Cody definitely made the right choice, and I hope Stevie tells them to f#ck off as well. This was also a blessing in disguise for Sandow. For guys like that, the roster split would've been the beginning of a very rough road. Cody's last program was curtain jerk garbage vs Apollo Crews (who will never be more than a forgotten midcard champion if that...like Zeke). After the roster split it would just be worse. The two minute squashes were likely in his future. I hope these guys are smart and think of their market value.
I would love to see guys like Carlito and Benjamin return and actually get a chance, however I dont really have faith in the writers. If i had to guess, using them as examples, the best Benjamin would get would be wins over Zack Ryder and the spot guy spot in ladder matches. Carlito on the other hand would get the lackluster RVD 2014 run at best, leader of the Colon Puerto Rican posse at worst. It's a shame, he's only 36, but we've seen how the Dudleys have done.
The Benjamin example would be completely subverted if he were to return as a serious force with Angle and Haas, which I absolutely think they should do. Not only would it take some of the pressure off of Angle, but it would make Angle going over current guys much more palatable for skeptics.

I doubt anyone will care aside from Goldberg/Angle if it's even true.

I hope they're gonna be used to put over the influx of NXT talent because I wouldn't want to see any of those guys take a spot over Cesaro, Nakamura, Owens, Zayn, Balor, The Club, Enzo and Cass, The Vaudvillians, Samoa Joe. I'd bring back talent just to put the guys I mentioned over.
I wouldn't mind seeing Goldberg come back because he is genuinely interesting I don't see the hype behind Masters, Carlito or MVP or Stevie Richards. BWO is another story though they would be awesome.

This is ridiculous. I hope they aren't seriously calling these guys. Kurt Angle is okay. John Morrison is alright. But don't call all these old a$$ mid card guys who did nothing 10 years ago and won't do anything now. This is the time for the future. NXT is beyond amazing and these valuable spots need to go to the new kids. Honestly I have zero interest in seeing Shelton Benjamin, Chris Masters, Steven Richards or Carlito. What can they do with them now that they didn't do in 2008?
If WWE is looking to fill spots then they should have kept Sandow and Cody Rhodes. This is not the time to bring in B stars when WWE is on the cusp of their A game.

I wouldn't mind seeing Angle and Stevie comes back, but the rest don't do anything for me.

I hope Carlito doesn't com back, never cared for his ring work or anything about him for that matter. I'd be down for Shelton Benjamin, MVP, and Kurt Angle.

Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio returning wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
I love the OPs article, as if Goldberg would just be casually included among names like John Morrison and Carlito for potential stars on the B show!
"Oh yeah that Goldberg guy, what's he upto these days? Let's bring him back and position him below Dean Ambrose." Ffs lol

According to the Mattel board, Angle told Mark Madden that he is in fact coming back, he just doesn't know when yet. Says him & Triple H have been in talks.
Not sure if it's very smart to be publicizing it, but Angle always makes great decisions, so we'll see.

I'd be down for a stevie return. The guy is still in great shape, working with DDP, and has always been great in the ring. Even as a mid to lower card superstar.
