Uhhhhhh he never had a Remco. This is Magnum's first action figure ever. He never had a Remco figure. Maybe your thinking of the Scott Hall figure. Man, between people chanting "Who are you" at Paul Ellering and not knowing that "The Living Legend" is Larry Zbyszko's nickname we might have to rethink this whole "smart mark" label. Weren't the "who are you?" chants starting before Ellering was on camera and directed towards the Authors of Pain? The clip WWE has posted seems to be much quieter than the original broadcast.

Vest is plastic on final figure. Thanks for chiming in and letting us know. Either way, I'm excited for this figure! Huge thanks to Mattel for making it.

Great looking figure. I'll definitely pick it up once it hits retail. Hopefully we get more NWA legends or attires in the near future.

Turned out pretty great. I can't believe this is actually coming out. I think you're all high. I think you're a tiny group of collectors who have been shouting to the heavens, and I think this thing is going to shelf warm like a sonofabitch but I'm happy for you guys who are excited about it. I'll probably get it just to remember bickering with everyone about it. Hopefully I can get a 50% off cartwheel coup. Man, between people chanting "Who are you" at Paul Ellering and not knowing that "The Living Legend" is Larry Zbyszko's nickname we might have to rethink this whole "smart mark" label. You have to be pushing 40 to have seen Magnum wrestle and it's not like he's had a lasting legacy... not really hard to figure out why so many people don't know him. Not to mention, 90% of wrestling fans grow up WWF/E fans and Magnum was a Mid-South and NWA guy. This is quite easily the most obscure figure Mattel has done to-date based on the current consumer market. Well, sans maybe Shockmaster, but that isn't aimed at retail anyway. The NWA's history carried over into WCW and WCW died 15 years ago. This is a niche figure to say the least.

Can anyone with knowledge of prototypes explain why there are those pegs in the shoulders? Most prototypes are very fragile, the hole is were pins are inserted when the joints are not acually functional. So, if someone were to "take" a proto like this, oit wouldn't have full rotation in the shoulders.

I love the thought of this figure being in my collection next to Flair, The Horsemen, and my Dusty fix-up (no polka dots). Although the height of Magnum's career was in the mid-eighties, it makes me wonder what his legacy might have been if the car accident never happened.
For those unfamiliar with him or the incident, the car accident he was in was horrible. According to Slam Sports, "I was driving down Sardis Road. It was raining, and there was some water collected on the road. I started to hydroplane and the car, because the engine is in the rear, reacted differently. I backed off the gas and continued sliding.
"Then I remembered you're supposed to give a Porsche gas. I hit the gas and it was like a shot -- it just took off. It cut across the road diagonally, across the oncoming lane of traffic -- I'm lucky nobody was coming -- and hit a pole near the driver's door."
On a dark Sardis Street at night, no one around, no way to move, Allen sat for an hour before someone found him. It took another hour to pry the 230-pound wrestler out of the car. He was talking at the time, but his condition was critical."
They didn't think he'd make it through the night and they doubted he'd ever walk again. Imagine getting news like that today about one of the current stars such as Rollins or Ambrose. It would shock the wrestling world. And in 1986, news of his accident knocked the wind out of the wrestling community.
According to Arn Anderson, "He would have been one of the greatest of all time, if it hadn't been for the tragedy". Listen to a great less than 3 min interview here:
Dusty said, "He was the golden child." "The torch was to be passed to him." "When he went out there for that 20 minutes with Tully Blanchard in that "I Quit" match, you actually believed that this was a shoot. He was that good." Another great interview to check out.
Here's the "I Quit" match with Blanchard:
I'm glad he survived. Very happy to be getting his figure.

I can totally see that cloth vest doubling up for AJ Style's eventual elite too. Magnum looks amazing and I too love that shout out to Nikita Koloff. Maybe Nikita might want to get in touch with WWE/Mattel. glad to see they stuck with the Arn Anderson torso, would love to see the legs because I use Mr. Perfect calves on my custom and I find it's much more suitable than normal skinny calves they usually give the figures. punksnotdead I guess I can't always agree with your point of view on everything. Yes he's an obscure figure in the bigger picture, but I wouldn't be the first to cast stones about shelf warming when Tito Santana, Shaemus, Ziggler and Del Rio pretty much set the standard. Whether you were a fan of his or not, the guy made a mark in wrestling history - if not being the next big thing after Ric Flair, then certainly for (1) having one of the greatest cage match feud culminations with Blanchard, (2) creating an inspiritaional moment cheering on Dusty & Nikita in the Crockett Cup finals, (3) one of the best of 7 for the US title with Nikita and (4) Wrestling's heartthrob version of Magnum P.I. He's a legend and has never had a figure made of him by any company. He deserves to be immortalized in plastic. If you want a real obscure figure look at Johnny Rodz.

I hope he comes with the us heavyweight title too does anybody agree. He wont come with it. They do not have the rights to any produce non WWE title and will not pay to acquire them.

TA's vest will be plastic when it hits shelves. AJ will probably get a modified version of E40 Kidd's hoodie.

Love the scan/sculpt.
I'm glad the vest is plastic. If the boots are red/white and the vest has more detail (tassels/buttons), I'm buying two to fix up Barry Windham.
