Not only do we now need Nikita... we NEED an NWA Dusty Rhodes!!! I have a feeling that nwa dusty is coming real soon. A clean prototype of the legends dusty just popped up on eBay, it could be just a prototype from legends 1 or the first hall of fame but I it could be a test shot for the next hof dusty in nwa attire NWA Dusty is waaaaay overdue!

Magnum needs not only his vest but any version of the NWA US championship not the WWE US title thrown in, I mean c'mon Vince owns the rights to the video collection and likeness I believe? So he should authorize the likeness of any of the older title belts, hell I would love an NWA Dusty with the TV title or Nikita Koloff with the US or NWA tag team title with Ivan Koloff! We got the ECW title with CM Punk so why not get these titles, I'm sure newer collectors as well as old school ones would love this idea!!!! C'mon Mattel and WWE make it happen?

They would have to sign contracts and pay the belt designers to make those belts.

it really is a travisty that Mattel can't pony up the cash to pay the designers to get those classic belts made, but they can sink a ton of money into Zombies.
If the TV title does see the light of day - oh how I wish it will have a red strap!

As much as I want the US title and the Television Title I don't see it happening. And doesn't TNA own the rights to the NWA belts? I mean the NWA world title and tag team titles were included with Toy Biz TNA figures. So I doubt they (TNA) would have been able to make them if the WWE owned the rights.
I just don't see Bill getting his bosses to sign off on paying for title belts that they would probably only release once or twice.

But how epic would it be to get a "Stunning" Steve Austin RSC exclusive with TV title? Or NWA Dusty Rhodes with US title in the elite line? And I drool at the thought of one day having a Great Muta with TV title too.

I'd be happy if Mattel made derivatives of the old NWA/WCW titles. Not exact replicas, but generic ones with with WWE logo that looked close enough to the originals. For example a red strapped TV title that had the Network logo on top, and different side plates with slightly different main plate. For me as a display collector, it would still look great. However, I doubt this would ever happen since there weren't even derivatives of the Pepsi and Cobra tattoos on Punk.

Here is what confuses people about the "No WCW" belt deal.
The exact same people that Mattel would have to pay are the same people they have paid in the past for the Winged Eagle, IC, Hogan 86, and classic tag belts. WWF didn't own their belt designs until the late 90s when the old 3 starting being replaced.
Midwest designs owns the copyright to all those belts along with the classic WCW/NWA belts. The Domed Globe they do not, but I don't think anyone does. Obviously the NWA logo is off limits. The Tag,US and TV belts were always JCP Belts, not NWA. The NWA only crowned a world champion and Junior.
Thus, on the outside looking in, it appears that Mattel should be able to work out a similar deal just as before. However, Bill says he can't do it, and I take him for his word. I assumed it was a WWE call, but with the WCW logo being on the shockmaster packaging, I no longer even have a guess.
I don't keep up with full size replica belts, but in the past WCW belts were made also by figs Inc along with WWF/E belts. All of that was post WCW purchase. I'm not sure if any replica WCW belts are still in production but I don't think so.

Plastic vest > fabric vest. My only issue with the plastic vests is that they don't look good with belts around a figures waist(Razor comes to mind 1st). The belts are too bulky so you are kind of stuck with the over the shoulder look.

Mattel has never paid anyone for belts WWE has licensed the ones that Mattel has made True and I should have clarified that WWE are the ones who would have paid Midwest in the past. Midwest gets a percentage of any replica WWE makes of the classic belts and the figure size ones too. Someone in the past here asked Dave Millican about Mattel/WCW belts and he said it isn't an issue that the ball is in Mattel/WWEs court. Bill said in that thread that he couldn't do them. Is what it is. I would love to have any of the WCW/JCP belts but obviously there is an issue. It doesn't appear to be any type of deal between WWE/Midwest for those belts. Video games have used the images recently. The only replica I see currently available is a tag belt but I don't believe Midwest made that one.

That is easily one of the best Legends likenesses I have ever seen. Awesome job, Mattel. Now lets get that poor One Man Gang out of purgatory, eh?
