I'm confused. Is he suicidal or sick? He is sick. I know he has Crohns disease but I think there are other health issues.

That is sad to hear. I loved when he was on that segment on Tuesday Night Titans receiving shock treatment. That was priceless. He was always entertaining. And when I was a teenager my father would chase mine and my older sisters friends around the living room like Steele used to run around the ring embarrassing us. Priceless memories when I think of George "the Animal" Steele.

The tweets in ill health could be someone else typing for him although George has kept a strong online presence the last few years on facebook. I think he enjoy saying what's on his mind (sick or not), maybe since he never got to do much talking in his career. He had been really sick in the late 80s with the crohn's disease but was able to recuperate. He's had a few health issues the last few years and I suppose just getting worse.

Shame. My mom never watched wrestling much unless I made her watch it in my younger years but her family watched it growing up and she loved Steele. It's gonna be sad.

I figured by the fact that he's sending out tweets that he wouldn't be sick enough to be on his death bed. I just took the time to read through his Twitter. He is having terrible kidney issues. He is going through treatments to have stones surgically removed. He says that the procedures that he's going through have caused him to have two strokes. It's a bad situation to be in. Sometimes treatments can cause side effects as bad as the diseases they are treating. When my grandmother was reaching the end of her life, she had cancer and every time her doctors would try to treat it, she would have a stroke or heart attack. Our bodies get so broken down that we can't handle treatments that are meant to help us. It's very said, but that's what's waiting for all of us if we live long enough.

In interviews, he seems to be a really smart guy. Kinda strange for the Animal to have brains. I know he's sick. He's the same age as my mom. Nobody lives forever, so we just have to appreciate him for who he is and was. It's crazy, isn't it? He actually has a bachelor & a master's degree. And was a teacher before becoming a wrestler. Blows my mind to think that a guy with a green tongue and turnbuckle padding in his teeth, was a teacher. That's the definition of "don't judge a book by it's cover". Vader is supposed to be quite the academic himself. A 400 lbs moonsaulting shootstyle badass with a PhD. And surely you guys have sat in on one of Kane's economic classes.

Kane is on the local sports radio channel every thursday here (cause he lives here obviously). Ive literally heard him talk about everything from the moon and back. While Ive never been a big Kane fan, Im a huge Glen Jacobs fan.

George is a fantastic man. I still remember being a young buck and helping on the ring crew at a local indy wrestling fed in Red Lion...God...about 15-16 years ago now...and one night the big draw was George. I sat down in the basement locker room after we tore the ring down and talked to him for over an hour. The guy is a legit boss. Please tell me you're referring to Red Lion, PA? That would be awesome, if so...

Please tell me you're referring to Red Lion, PA? That would be awesome, if so... I am indeed. The fed was NCW (National Championship Wrestling) when it was run by "Dirty Deeds" Darren Wyse. Sweet, I actually am from Glen Rock (SoYoCo aka Southern York County). Well, born in B'more and lived in Cockeysville long enough to claim Maryland lol...lotsa proud Marylanders, plus the obligatory GO RAVENS! Haha...However, in 2010 for 13 months until 2011 I did live on the outskirts of Red Lion with some buddies (one still owns the nice place he got on foreclosure sale deal) over on Acorn Lane of Windsor (off Rt.74). In 2012, it was to York off Mt. Rose, over on the corner of Maple & Courtland w/my gf. Thought about moving back to where she's from (Scranton), but here we are back in good ol' Glen Rock (crap-hole borough), which has its hidden blessing for spending time with and seeing my dad, since my Pops' health is dwindling/diminishing, what with his Diabetes/Heart Disease/Neuropathy (permanent nerve damage) in both feet/COPD...and of course mamadukes too, as I approach 30 (gf is 39). Anyways, don't mean to hijack the thread with personal stories, just thought it's pretty neat, as you are one from the area, and I know I've seen other York County i.e. Hanover posters mention this homeland vicinity/proximity as well! Very cool, indeed.

Makes me sad how many folks seem to be beseeching for GTAS to be replaced in HOF 4 AND harping/griping (so to speak) on the fact that he's easy to track on the secondary market/price is well below original market value/price or whatever. Yet, if he DOES die soon, ya know that shiznit is going to skyrocket immediately from all the scummy scalpers! So maybe it's best for those innumerable, latter Mattel collectors like myself to have a decent shot at the HOF packaging one @ retail in mint condition anyways, ya know? I say just re-release it. It's indeed capital for Mattel, even though Bill always said in the past how they're not gonna capitalize on death & such (in poor taste). It's still a wise decision on their part to "cash in" even if he will shelf-warm (doesn't necessarily hurt Matty themselves in that regard), as many presume, probably rightfully so, at least at the current time.
That is, until Father Time finally takes his last clasping, grasping, squeezing hold around the wheezing wind pipe of George. Plus, who knows, it could be semi-useful for Attitude Era even to some extent, albeit a bit of a stretch. I mean he never really changed in appearance/aged that much in that time frame between his prime run & random return in the late 90s with that stable. Plus, if say we ever got some crazy off-the-wall characters i.e. Human Oddities like Golga or tye-dye Kurrgan & Luna, GTAS is fitting for either era in my view! Lol that WOULD be sweet, but very low on most collectors' proverbial priority paper, not to mention Mattel's to-do list, surely so as well. GTAS will be Mine undoubtedly, no matter how so/through whatever vendor, soon enough.
