I was watching this and it was by far the best crowd ever and the worst reaction Cena has ever had. But my question is what if it was Reigns in Cena's place? Now you have to give Cena respect that was pretty violent but he took it aboard like the boss he is but what about Roman? Would he have cried, brokedown or even walked out of the ballroom?
Also you have to ask would the crowd have been worse and possible threw chairs and maybe jump the barriers?
Now I'm not a Roman hater but it would be hilarious to see him in Cena's spot here lol.

Nah I don't think he would do anything crazy. Probably just act more heelish and tell the crowd off. And complain about them later.

I think Roman would do fine. He seems to shake off the negativity for the most part.
I also think with a heel turn and some character development, he could be the most hated heel in years. WWE needs to pull the trigger now.

WWE needs to pull the trigger now. Thats how I feel. Heels in todays era get cheered which kind of ruins their aura but Reigns could be one of the greatest heels in years that's hated by everyone.

Vince would never even have put Roman in that sort of situation because of how overprotective he is with Roman. The whole reason they did this match is because Cena knows how to handle any and every crowd he encounters perfectly, and Vince trusts him. I'm a huge, huge RVD fan, but I remember watching that match and being really impressed with the way Cena handled the crowd. His entire entrance when he just put his head down and raised his title as he walked to the ring knowing fully well the entire building was going to be booing him unmercifully was great.

Roman would've blazed one with RVD.

They hated all the WWE guys anyway so that's not really a fair question. He probably wouldn't have gotten anything worse than Cena did. That arena is small and all those fans were in full fledged "we hate wwe wrestlers" mode to begin with.

But they did go the extra mile with Cena though and none of the other guys got constant abuse shouted at them during their matches.

With that said, I don't see him getting a worse treatment than Cena did

Cena is very passive with the negative reaction and plays uber nice guy by saying "you paid your money say what you want" Didn't Reigns snap back at the audience for chanting "you cant wrestle" If Reigns to be in Cenas place at ONS 06 at argue / spit bile back at the fans we could have had a whole different situation on our hands.

Absolutely LEGENDARY when Cena threw his t-shirt into the crowd - and the crowd threw it back! LIKE 3 TIMES!
I'll never forget that moment.

Cena handled this so well, but I still feel bad for him since the crowd tore him apart. As for Roman, he'd make things worse by talking back to the crowd. The ECW crowd is one crowd no one should back talk.

He'd say tater tot a whole bunch. Then after the first one coming of naturally he'll force it for the next 10 minutes. Then yeah oooooaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh and spear RVD. lolz Roman wins.

Roman's brother Rosey handled ECW pretty well when he was there.... but then again, that was a different time frame, and friends didn't really hate the Samoan Gangsta Party like they do Roman Reigns.

The ECW crowd LOVED to hate on Cena, but really, they respected him, too. That same crowd would hate on Reigns because they don't respect him.

I'll have to re-watch the match as it is one of my all time favorites for the atmosphere and for RVD winning the title. As I recall, the fans were chanting "You can't wrestle" at Cena but then he pulled off some good moves so they switched to "You still suck" or something like that. It was pretty funny. The ring introductions with the t-shirt being thrown back into the ring multiple times by the crowd was classic too. I think Cena knew what he was getting into and he handled it great.

if he proved he could get as extreme as necessary, he could actually potentially win a lot of people over.

He could have handled it. He doesn't care what reaction he gets from the fans. He relishes in the cheers and jeers, and would have been fine even in an extra hostile environment.

Oh I'd love to see Reigns, booked in his current face persona, wrestle a match in the Hammerstein Ballroom. I think the Cena jeers might be tame by comparison.
