I was out of the game for awhile. Gave up on Jakks around CS series 13. When I saw the Mattel figures at retail I had to have them.

I had every line of toys growing up, except wrestling figures because I never thought they had a good likeness. I loved wrestling though. Mattel got me interested. Jakks couldn't

Mattel wasn't without flaws and Jakks wasn't without virtue, but I was pretty well sold on Mattel from the start. I thought headscans were initially underwhelming from Mattel. Mattel had a wider range of body parts right from the start, which was welcome. You usually were one of three torsos if you were Jakks. That being said, some body types were too skinny, still are. Mattel has blown every mass market toy out of the water with the deepest catalog of general shared parts I think there have ever been, especially for wrestling toys. Jakks had their scans and their paint apps for the hair and eyes and such, but were otherwise outclassed. Mattel has only grown since then. Ten years from now Mattel WWE will join the ranks of toy lines like Marvel Legends, Super Powers, DCUC, Masters of the Universe, and so on, as the epic toy lines of all time.

I had a few Jakks MOC and loose. I started collecting Mattel about April of 2010. Then I got hooked. Love their figures. For me far superior to Jakks

I was annoyed until I seen Basic series 1 Cena at retail and was hooked ever since. Can't believe how much scratch I wasted on jakks

My biggest gripe with Jakks was the scale. Mattel fixed that very issue of mine. I was delighted.

I'd had enough of Jakks. They really screwed us on the way out, and they were really pushing the DM style against the majority's wishes. I hated DMs. Then the first basic series came out and I liked the realistic proportions, but the figs all looked really bad, the heads in particular. The basic articulation wasn't much better than RAs, which I was starting to miss. I liked the first elite series, bought everyone besides Punk, but still didn't like the heads on Taker or Edge. There were much better Jakks versions, which annoyed me. Then the two pack with Santino and Beth came out and the Santino was one of the best likenesses in figure history. I knew there things would get better, and they did.
Then the Legends line started out about as badly as it could have, and dipped even worse with the TRU 2 packs. Then, just as they were starting to get good they pulled the plug. The first two series were AWFUL! The damage was done. By then, however, awesome figures like basic Mark Henry, Elite Orton and Michaels were coming out, and I was in. They got off to an EXTREMELY rough start, and they should've waited to put out Legends until they could put out some really strong lineups.
It was pretty much a steady climb. They started out rough, now they definitely know what they are doing. Sure there is always the occasional blooper or 3, but that's just life. I'm not switching brands again. Once they're done, I'm done.

I wasn't sold at first. Granted, I hated Jakks mostly due to scale issues alone, so Mattel simply won points for that. I have grown to love elites, though. I only had so many Jakks figs because I used to work at a KB Toys and got 'em at a discount, so I piled up. They were all pretty lame though, esp. towards the end with the big head syndrome.

It was a great change in quality after Jakks dipped so bad.

At first I didn't want to start over again, but when my son got old enough of course I was back in the game. I find things I like about both lines actually. I like how we can still use my Jakks Andre the Giant "face" figure with the Mattel guys to be honest.

I never really collected Jakks wrestling figs as a kid. I had like wrestling 10 figures and that was it. Even though I loved wrestling, I hated their action figure because kid me also had some old toy is marvel legends so I was used to increased detail and articulation, so i hated Jakks wrestling figs. I didn't even realize that Mattel started making figs until 2013 and by then I wasn't really a kid anymore.

I didn't like the Mattel figures at first. Then I found E10 Kane, and I was hooked.

Like any change, I hated it at first. I put so much ing time and money into Jakks. I viewed Mattel's potential success or failure as a bad thing. If they succeeded, Jakks is basically useless. If they failed, Jakks is the best we get and they left SO MUCH to be desired. As of now though, I'm very happy overall. Mattel is superior in every way. As much as it sucked to have to restart and invest big again, I can honestly say it's worth it. Change is hard. But it's usually for the better.

It took a while to get used to the smaller bodies, but now I wished I never collected when jakks were around.
So much money wasted .

I didn't collect Jakks, and looking at some of them now they look really strange. Some of them look good, though. I started with Mattels, and I'll probably stop if they give up or otherwise lose the license.

I didn't collect figs during the Jakks run. I went from AWA Remcos, WWF LJNs, WWF Hasbro....a long period of time in which I was chasing skirts and attempting to get some 'strange' at bars....and then I started Mattels two years ago.

I didn't even know about it. I didn't collect Jakks. I bought them as a kid. Then in 2010. At the ripe age of 20, Mattel introduced me to collecting
I mostly buy Mattel but I have a couple Neca Batman figures and a couple Marvel figures

I just wish Mattel's packaging was more consistent throughout the years. It's jarring to look at some collections. To answer your question, I didn't collect Jakks, but I was happy when I saw DM Macho and realized Mattel was making it. I couldnt possibly agree more. I got into collecting late. I saw the WM HBK & Bret at TRU and that's what got me hooked. I planned on collecting MOC because the packaging looked great. Then I learned that the packing had changed numerous times and I didn't like the lack of consistency that it would bring to my display. I will note that I believe that Mattel has done a great job with their packaging compared to other figure lines, i just think seeing a collection of Jakks CS with the same exact box makes for a fantastic display. Perfectly happy as a loose collector though. Mattel has done a fantastic job in my eyes.
