Skewed comparison. With all due respect, this is one of those things that has been floating around the IWC for years. Jim Ross (one of Austin's best friends) is always quick to use this line, and quite frankly, people who personally like Austin more tend to repeat it any time there is a comparison. For example, when Hogan was on top, the primary way to acquire a Hulkamania T-shirt by going to an arena for a live event, or mail ordering it from WWE Magazine. During Austin's heyday, you could walk into any Walmart (as well as many other retail stores) and pick up a variety of Austin T-shirts anytime you'd like. These Austin shirts were often cheaper (10 years later) and far more accessible to consumers than the WWE T-shirts during the 1980's. The wrestling industry was much larger industry in the second half of the 90's in general. WWE had a far greater international presence in the 90's. With all due respect to Austin, he (and many others) drove down a very smooth road on his way to the top that was paved by Hulk Hogan. There are a lot of other factors that make a significant impact other than the "bottom line" of total merchandise, especially considering the differences in the two time periods/eras. The steroids trial and the entire New Generation era beg to differ LOL

Austin is a very talented wrestler and entertaining but he no Hogan and could not break in to the main stream in the era that Hogan was in...he would have been a jobber and if he or anyone else was that talented why didn't they overtake WWE when he and others were in WCW. 2 Christmas's ago Dean Ambrose merchandise out sold Hogan so I guess by your logic Ambrose is a bigger star. Really??

I'm sick of this whole thing. Make me my Hollywood figure already. Yeah and all those folks who said Mattel couldn't have known...well they DID know there WAS a video leaked way back in 2012 already, which some obviously some vile content would be undoubtedly contained therein. So, for the time being, they blew it by waiting, case closed. If they're the only toy maker (seemingly) dead set against the "racist" Ho Kogan, well then why didn't they feel that way in the FIRST place? I mean, he committed a well-renowned act of adultery! Why did they EVER make anything? I mean, in regards to the debate about "who knows if Mattel will approve of 'surefire money in the bank' aka releasing Hogan items again when he DOES inevitably come back?" Yadda yadda, just end it already...no retailer ever pulled him in my area. Apparently, WCT just continued plugging along. Meanwhile, Mattel collectors get teased, followed by ensuing punishment. They SHOULD HAVE known there was a potential for a huge, upcoming "stink" to take place, thus gotten Hollywood out there as a priority, instead of squeezing measly dollars out of Hulkamaniacs prior to that release, because ya just never know. Let's hope they learned their lesson! I know Bill himself felt the brunt of it too, 'cause he's a fellow collector with the rest of us. Actually, he probably has a prototype come to think of it. Blimey &@$+@®d! lol jk
