RAW:
Shane McMahon came out to open Raw. He announced an 8 man tournament to determine the No. 1 Contender for the WWE Championship. Shane O says that the tournament will begin tonight on Raw, continue through Smackdown, and conclude at Battleground. The winner will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Summerslam. Shane then demands John Cena to come out, much to everyone’s surprise. John Cena comes out as Cena is just as surprised as the WWE Universe. Cena claims that he thought this was going to be Shane & Orton face-to-face. Shane says that is about to happen, but Shane informs Cena of his main event match on Raw tonight vs. Sheamus in a No Disqualification match. Cena nods his head in approval as the he fires up emotion from the WWE Universe over this announcement. Randy Ortons’ song hits. Randy comes down to the ring, enters and asks for his punishment. Shane informs Orton that they will face each other one-on-one at Battleground and John Cena will be the referee.
Round 1 in the WWE Championship Tournament: Tyler Breeze def. Dolph Ziggler with a rollup after a flapjack on the top ropes to advance in the tournament.
Backstage: Renee Young interviews The New Day. All 3 members of the New Day will be in the WWE Championship Tournament. Renee questions to New Day what will happen if the 3 have to face each other somehow in this tournament. Big E says there is no sense in worrying about What If scenarios. What if they face each other… What if they are drafted to separate shows… Big E says they will worry about crossing that bridge when confronted with the path in front of them. Renee informs Kofi that his qualifying match is next.
Round 1 in the WWE Championship Tournament: Kofi Kingston def. Bray Wyatt with an SOS to advance in the tournament.
Paige def. Charlotte with the PTO submission. New Women’s Champion Natalya provided commentary about how Paige is not in her league.
Backstage: Renee Young interviews the new Tag Team Champions – The Dudley Boyz. Renee informs them that their first tag title defense since winning the championships will be tonight vs. The Usos. Bubba Ray reminds Renee that they have won multiple tag titles in the past and this is not their first rodeo. Renee talks about the upcoming draft. Bubba says that he is not worried about D-Von becoming a Reverend again if they are separated because they will still be the WWE Tag Team Champions come draft night.
Round 1 in the WWE Championship Tournament: Big E def. Chris Jericho with a Big Ending to advance in the tournament.
Tag Team Championship Match: The Dudley Boyz def. The Usos when D-Von pinned Jey after a 3-D
Round 1 in the WWE Championship Tournament: Rusev def. Xavier Woods with an Accolade to advance in the tournament.
No Disqualification Main Event: Sheamus def. John Cena after Randy Orton ran in to RKO Cena after Cena had just hit Sheamus with an AA. Orton threw Sheamus on top of Cena as the ref counted 1-2-3 as Orton stood over Cena to end Raw.
