That Sears wish book was a staple of my childhood. Oh my God... I miss those days! Don't forget that you could also see pics of new figures and such on the back of the figure cards as well. I don't know about anyone else, but 3 3/4 GI Joes always excited me the most. Looking at the great character artwork for newly released figures on the back of the cards and salivating til you found them! Ah, the good old days! My favorite line growing up was any and everything Kenner. Good times for sure.

Yeah the back of Joe cards had the new figures coming to.
But the Wish book was awesome. We would never get it, but my grandparents would always get it and I would sit in their living room for hours looking at Mego, Action Jackson, GI Joe and Star War product for hours. I remember the had generic NFL players. Black or white players that came in various colored jerseys with stickers to make them into whichever team you wanted to. I always wanted one of those but never got one. The closest I got to that was a 12" Joe Namath figure.

I don't know how many of you would have survived the 70's-80's where the only way you knew what the new lineups were was... 1. You walked into the stores and saw new product on the shelves. 2. The Sears Wish book came out 3. You purchased a big Playset/vehicle like the Millenium Falcon which came with a pamphlet in it. That's how things were when I was a young child. I did not grown up in the 70s or 80s I grew up much much much later. The technology and online forums existed back then but I was young child so I had no idea how to use them. I remember being like 5-6 years old and would go to the Toy store and I would see new figures on the shelf and I have fond memories of looking through Sears whishbooks, they still made them in the early-mid 2000s, I'm not sure if they make them anymore

I remember being a kid and watching Mr America on SmackDown - I went right down to Woolworths to get a toy of him and there wasn't one.
That's right, I thought figures magically appeared days after the debut on TV.

Those kids in those GI Joe ads had the best backyards. I do miss the thrill of discovering a new toy on the shelf. "HOLY S**T!! They made a Grimlock? Mom, mom, MOM!!! You gotta get this for me."

Ugh. I always cringe when I hear the words 'retailer exclusives' as I live in Canada.

I had an awesome backyard as a kid. (Until I was old enough to have to cut the lawn. lol) it was 250 yards long. (And we had a standard lawn mower) but our driveway wrapped around the house. And it was elevated about 3' above the back yard. So in he right-hand corner there was the 3' rock wall, with about a 12' x 6' dirt patch before it hit the grass. And about 3' away from that we had a in the ground gold fish pond (that never had fish in it. lol) so that is where I would play with my Mego, army men and GI Joes. It was my desert, jungle, river and mountains and other planets all in one. Now it is a bunch of Townhouses and access roads on Passaic Ave in Roseland NJ. Loved the Bullet-Man commercial, the Spider-Man web shooter commercial as well as the Mego Chips and Star Trek commercials. They are the four commercials I still remember.

Some ppl on this site still do I remember when AJ debuted at the Rumble there was literally a topic about 30 seconds after he set foot on the ramp talking about what parts should be used and how "easy it was to make" and how it should be on shelves by July. Yeah okay.

I especially hate exclusives that are Target, Walgreens, Kmart, and GameStop, because those stores in arent in Canada, which means I have to pay double or triple the original retail price on eBay. Ugh.

Seeing e44 made my day yesterday. I don't need to wait two weeks for some big surprise. Surprise me a little everyday, that would be better. If they want to show us everything today, that won't ruin anything for me. I'd rather the show was today anyhow.

I really don't get what you guys are taking about. He's not withholding elites. He's saying that these were going to be revealed at the convention and this was all they had lined up. So now that they've been "spoiled" the reveal is gone. ...the thing is, they always show quite a bit more than just one series - it's usually at least two series, plus any RSC exclusives and HOF/Network Spotlight figures etc. For Bill to "thank" the person for showing the pictures and then say "no new Elite reveals" kind of makes it sound as though he's throwing his toys out the pram... 2 things: 1) I really don't see it like that but that's just my persepctive. I can see how you reach that conclusion, I just don't agree with the journey of how you got there. 2) Elite 43 isn't in most retailers yet. There is a substantial likelihood that he was planning on showing E43, E42 and the BIG REVEAL of E44. They might be putting more basics and BPs at this convention, and the plan was to do E44 as the new attraction.

Hopefully they can reveal the lineup for e45 and e46 if none of the samples are ready to show. Maybe we could see images at least

Surprised nobody has tried to blame me for this yet, lol. To hell with them my friend. Awful face scans for wrestling figures in 2016 is just incompetence. With all the 3d printers and tech Mattel has at there disposal if a face scans come out bad Mattel should be able to fix them and delay the figure if needed.

Isn't Sin Cara in this series but not shown? So Mattel still has that going for them...
