Any Stephen King fans on here?
Ive been a life long fan of his and thought it would be cool to start a thread dedicated to his books (and film adaptations).
Some of my faves are:
Desperation The Stand IT Rose Madder Misery Salems Lot
Many of his film adaptations are stinkers but I actually like some of them, does anyone ever remember a rare one called The Sleep Walkers?
The original Salems Lot with David Soul and James Mason is one of my all time faves along with Misery with the great, Kathy Bates.

11.22.63 is my favourite book of his. I was hooked right from the first page. Such a rollercoaster read.
I'm also a big fan of The Stand and Misery. Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption is another favourite of mine.
EDIT: And Stand By Me has to be one of the best film adaptations.

I actually liked Rose Red. I enjoyed The Mist, It and The Shawshank Redemption.
His appearance in Sons of Anarchy was cool too. I've not read enough of his books - which I had time!

Pretty big fan but mostly older stuff. Salem's Lot is my favorite but Cujo, Running Man, the Stand, Tommyknockers and Pet Semetary are all some of the stuff I enjoy. I've flirted with Dark Tower but I've only gotten through 3 of them.
I own 11/22/63 but have yet to crack it open. It's on my pile.

Love Stephen King. Actually have an almost complete set of his books in hardcover (everything but The Dark Tower series, which I wasn't able to get into back when I tried the first one, but have been meaning to try again). Been thinking about converting to paperback editions for them in the interest of saving space (because I plan on living in a tiny house one day and don't want to just get rid of my Stephen King books).
Say what you will about Mr. King - he's a bit wordy at times and doesn't diversify his conversation descriptors enough IMO - but nobody knows how to tell a story quite like him. I actually just finished reading the Bill Hodges trilogy (Mr. Mercades, Finders Keepers, and End Of Watch). Not quite as good as his classic stuff, but still miles better that most of the crap that passes for fiction these days. Some of my favorites of his are...
The Stand The Tommyknockers Bag of Bones The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon Under The Dome Dolores Claiborne Gerald's Game Misery The Shining The Green Mile Just about any of his short story collections
Film and TV adaptations have been largely hit or miss, but I've really enjoyed The Stand (TV mini-series), The Mist, Misery, Carrie, Dreamcatcher... And, of course, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile are both absolute classics.

I'm a pretty big fan. He's a Maine guy. I've driven by his Bangor house a dozens of times. It's quite surreal to know he's from the area.
11.22.63 might honestly be my favorite book of all time. Just incredible.

11/22/63 was a really great film/TV adaptation. I tried to slow burn through it but only made it three days before I finished it.

On Writing is by far my favorite King book. That's followed closely by The Dark Tower series and The Stand.
