While Zayn can fit into the class, I don't think he's going to be in it. A lot of the cruiserweights are smaller dudes and he's a pretty big dude body size wise. Ik Hardy was in it but it just seems weird to me

I think this confirms Aries will be called up tonight. Aries, Kendrick, Kalisto, Itami, Sabre Jr, Ibushi, Alexander, And maybe another guy or two from the CWC and you got yourself a great looking division.

I wonder how they will explain guys like Ibushi, Balor or Metalik getting picked in the draft and Daniel Bryan not being the person picking them when all things "equal" he could.
Better yet, what if Daniel Bryan does take them, and all the cruiserweights that he can and says... "ok.. how's your cruiserweight division on RAW now?" all the while he makes the cruiserweights he picked the stars of Smackdown.

I honestly don't agree with a whole Cruiserweight division. Then when someone like AJ, who would fit the division, goes fot the World Title, the casual fan's perspective will be like "Shouldn't he be in the Cruiserweight division ". I mean I'm not saying the Cruiserweight division would suck or they would have AJ work the Cruiserweight division, but i don't think its that great of an idea There was an interesting point made on the recent RevPro PPV about how Matt Sydal defeating Big Damo could put him in line for a Heavyweight Title shot. I mean, NJPW even has two sets of tag belts for bigger and smaller guys, so I don't think weight classes are going to hurt anybody in professional wrestling. And to be fair, TNA has handled it *all right* with their whole Option C thing and Austin Aries being a believable champion there. As for who can make up the cruiserweight division in WWE... Well, just sign everyone from the CWC and give them their own weekly three hour show. Raw.

I do remember reading other people saying that if they keep the 205 weight limit, then guys like AJ and Zayn could be exempt from the division. I still don't agree with it, again not cause i don't like cruiserweights, but the perception the casual fans will give the division would make certain guys who this division would be a step down not look good. I fear if Finn Balor, whose billed as 198, gets drafted to RAW, people are gonna start saying "How is this guy not in the Cruiserweight division?". I'll judge more as the weeks come along and i see how they handle this

If they go by the old rules, the old Cruiserweight division had either a 215, or 225 lbs weight limit I think. It was 225 in WCW i think 220 or 215 in wwe

With the announcement that the division will be exclusive to Raw, there is even less of a reason to have the 3:2 ratio on picks. If you intend to compete in the Cruiserweight division, and fall under the proposed weight class, you immediately get sent to Raw. Then, the rest of the draft plays out evenly.
But of course they can't do that, because they probably just decided to do a Cruiserweight division 5 minutes before Raw went live last night.

I'm starting to think maybe they just announced the division but it won't officially be starting up until the CWC ends. That way they don't do a draft and then the next week after also call up a bunch of additional guys.

Can't help but think the only reason they are doing the cruserweights on Raw is because of the show being 3 hours and Smackdown being the shorter show

Isn't it 205 for the CWC? yea I think it would be odd if they didn't keep that limit for the cruiserweight.

Thats kind of what I am thinking for the division as well plus Tijari,Neville and Sami Zayn.Yes Zayn is a little bigger in size and really should be in the upper mid card to main event scene but I think he would be a great 1st champion and someone to really get the ball rolling. Also would be nice to bring back Rey Mysterio, even for a one off match or short run.He really help to put that style of wrestling on the map in America in the mid 90's and really was one of the stars that built up that division in WCW.Would be fitting for him to comeback and fight for this new title, hell at the very least have him their to present the new title to the champion.

A-m-azing. God, I wish they'd sign Kendrick and Tajiri. What a feud that could be. They're both crazy.
