After news broke of WWE’s now-executed plans to split Raw and SmackDown into separate, distinct rosters, there were a flurry of rumors and reports about moves to re-stock the ranks with past stars and other name veterans to fill out the shows.
The draft came and went earlier this week without any such additions.
Per an exclusive report by PWInsider, two former WWE Superstars are being brought back soon. Mike Johnson’s story says the plans he heard call for the men to be placed on SmackDown, but he notes that could change.
Potential spoilers ahoy...
The wrestlers are Rhyno, who’s been an on-again off-again presence in NXT of late and showed up on the main roster last December for the Dudleyz feud with the Wyatt Family, and Brian Myers, who worked in WWE from the mid-aughts until 2014 as Curt Hawkins, including a prominent run as an “Edge-head” backing the then-World champ along with a pre-’Woo Woo Woo’ Zack Ryder.

Love Hawkins... He's a rock-solid hand to have on your roster (and seems like one of the most genuinely cool dudes in the industry). Rhyno has some decent name value and is still a capable in-ring performer.

Neither will do anything other than put talent over, Curt Hawkins never did anything to impress me but Rhyno is a well known talent who has some star power.

I gotta be honest, I'd like a story line where both Mojo & Hawkins wants to re-team with Ryder. And Ryder is torn between his friendship with Mojo or his past success with Hawkins. Could make for some interesting TV.
Rhyno being called up explains why he returned to NXT looking like a threat only to lose his first match back. His matches in NXT have proven he is still capable of having solid matches.

I would like to see Rhyno on the main roster. He still looks in great shape. Gotta be honest, he would fit more on RAW

No thanks. I'd rather they find some more talent in the indys or NJPW than bring back a bunch of retreads who weren't that great to begin with.

The WWE is turning more into WCW as each year goes by it seems.

I have no issue with either of them coming back, but I don't necessarily see that they have a distinct purpose. Hawkins was never established enough during his first run to matter as a guy who is going to get the newer talent over. He'd have to be built up.
Rhyno can sort of do that, but I don't think beating Rhyno decisively will really raise anyone's stock.

I think they'll be great additions for the younger talent to work with. I was always a big Rhyno fan.

All depends how there booked really... As I said in the ziggler thread When you 'start again' you have to start again straight away... if your gonna change a character or bring one in make them do something important from the start. Don't bring rhyno in with a random mid card match and then think people will care, have him interfere in the main event goring everyone for example, make him seem a big deal and he can still offer something. Hawkins, again forget about the past and treat him like a man who went away and became a big Indy star and that Bryan wants to sign him and give him a chance and give him a big first match or whatever I don't know haha I'm no booking expert but just book them as important and the fans will think there important

Neither one interest me at all. I do wish they kept Sandow on the roster. Although I think I saw signs yesterday that Sandow, Ric Flair and the Hardy's are appearing at the Rockland Boulders minor league ballpark this weekend. Which is only a ten minute drive from the house.
