I love collecting but i absolutely despise lose figures, like, i can't even fathom the thought of having them out. However, i adore having figures in the box and look at them every day. Anyone else?
Ps: I feel the same way about my Funko Pop! It's not just mattel action figures.

I do find it odd that you don't want to touch your action figures . I can see it with a Pop because they're static. I like to feel how the figure moves and poses, the material used and sometimes even the weight. I can't leave them in their boxes. Sometimes I keep boxes I like and put the figure back in or I'll buy an extra as a non-opener.

At the moment I'm a strictly moc collecter but will only purchase certain figures that I like but with the likes of the diesel cactus Jack warrior re releases it means I can keep my prized figures moc but also buy the cheaper re releases to take out of the box and display

Im the opposite, I don't understand leaving something in plastic and cardboard when you could physically touch it and feel it and look at it properly haha to me it's like having a car you can't drive, but just look at.
But all respect to MOC collectors. I'm sure they have good reasons why they stay MOC.

I don't think it's odd. It's just a preference. Some of the packaging really makes a figure stand out. Like the Shockmaster or New Day three pack that they showed in the Booty-O's box.

I'm a MOC collector but I do buy some to open. I'd say my collection is 80% MOC 20% loose. I just display the loose ones of wrestlers that I enjoy. I enjoy my MOC collection, not intending to resell or whatever. I like the way they display and room for me is not an issue.

It's not weird that you're a MOC collector. But it is strange that you despise loose figures and can't fathom people opening figures that are designed to be opened and moved around. They have articulation for a reason.

To me yes, but I find a figure moc odd, I don't see why you buy something and not want to touch it or look at it properly, play with or display. Some people do it to re-sell which baffles me more but each to their own, I don't judge.

You've never wanted to hold a figure in your hands and check out the detail? That's strange.

I think you despise the idea that loose figures are worth less, so you don't want to open them. I think it's sad that MOC figures will never wear their shirts or belts.

I am the exact opposite. What is the point of buying and not opening? There is less appreciation to the effort put into the figure in box. When I really like a figure, I buy 2.

If I could only afford to collect one way, I would collect moc and I would buy a lot less. As it is, I buy only my favorites moc and the others I get to have loose for my son to play with. For example, typhoon is my favorite ottman figure so I will get him moc and eventually matching earthquake moc too but I won't have them loose. I have e35 earthquake loose and I'll be getting tugboat loose. Normally I would pass on a character like shockmaster but it looks too amazing moc.
It is more satisfying to receive a figure I will open so I can hold them and move them and put on their accessories.
You are missing out if you aren't seeing the accessories on a figure like the godfather or even just the sunglasses on jim neidhart.

The problem for me is a space issue. I've got dozens of loose figures. If they were MOC they'd take up too much room.

If i were rich, i would probably get two of each figure and open the 2nd one. But that's not a possibility right now. I like my figures too much to let them get any type of dirt.

Vintage MOC, modern loose. I hate 99% of modern packaging by most toy companies. I like the nostalgic feel of vintage cards. So it's an easy choice.

MOC never made much sense to me, can't really put factions together properly and your collection ends up looking like a toy store rather than a collection.
