Smackdown is becoming the nostalgia show now it seems. Out of all the names rumored to come back, the only one I'm interested in seeing come back is Carlito. Benjamin is fine I guess, but I'm not interested in seeing MVP back

Always liked him, but I was really hoping he and Haas would come back with Angle so they could have one last run before Shelton started jobbing as opposed to returning and going directly to jobbing.
As far as why he is revered, not only is he an incredible athlete, but he's also a spectacular wrestler. He has definitely put on his share of five star matches with people besides Michaels (which was a 6 star match). No, he doesn't really have charisma, but then neither does Neville (another super athletic guy who puts on great matches)....nor does Apollo Crews. I love Neville and all, but god, crickets. At least Shelton gets some reaction. Apollo Crews is just awful in that regard. Smiling, baby kissing black man with generic black sports athlete music and all of the excitement is sucked out of the building as he takes his first step on the aisle. I'll take Shelton over Crews any day. As little personality as Shelton has, he's still light years ahead of Crews.

i enjoyed team angle but never really enjoyed his single runs. his work in roh with haas was excellent though and showed a more matured wrestler, so between that and his natural in ring talent i won't mind seeing him back at all.

I always enjoyed Shelton. His last run with the WWE was probably my least favorite though. Hopefully he gets some good chances on Smackdown because they are lacking in big name superstars right now. Basically they need to take whatever they can get.

Shelton and Maven were two of my all time favorites. They weren't great on the mic but their in ring performances were always awe-inspiring. Crazy talent and probably the best enhancement talents out there aside a few others like Ziggler and Jeff Hardy when he first began. I hope we get an Elite SB now.

They already have Shelton Benjamin on the roster. His name is Apollo Crews I thought that was Titus O'Neil?

So happy Shelton is coming back. His release in 2010 always bothered me. Now he gets a second chance. Hope he can make the most of it.

Wow. It was rumored so many times I started to believe that they were never bringing him back. Just another reason for me to watch Smackdown.

An incredibly solid hand to help put some guys over. I loved him in Team Angle.....not so much in singles action but yeah I'm a fan.
His addition can only be a good thing IMHO.

I will never understand this places obsession with this guy. He's a great athlete, but that's it. He's the high spot guy. And not in a Kofi Kingston kind of way where he was ever being held back by it. This isn't true at all.. He did do some high spots in matches that called for high spots, but Shelton put on many 5 star matches in his day. Shelton Benjamin was one of the best pure wrestlers of his era.. That guy could work a match. I think it is true. Other than his match with Shawn Michaels, who is the goat, he was never more than a flashy athlete in the ring. I'm not arguing that his work rate wasn't good but what does that even mean anymore when 80% of the current roster has a great work rate. He brings zero personality or character and he most certainly can't talk. He used big flashy athletic spots to make people care because he couldn't make them care any other way. He's quite a bit like Cesaro. I great tag team guy who can be utilized in good filler matches but is largely over rated by the internet because they fail to come to terms with the fact he's one dimensional. There are literally dozens of guys I'd rather see back than him. Whatever though. He's enhancement talent to the young guys. I just don't understand the infatuation with him that exists within this site. He already did his Team Angle reunion in ROH. That was the perfect place for him.

My favorite WWE star from 2003-2005, an incredibly gifted athlete and wrestler. I just hope he's not purely enhancement talent. He could have some great matches with pretty much everyone on the roster, but I'd like to see him used as an upper mid carder (though, unless he found a personality while he was gone, he should never actually win the big one)

If it's happened it can't be classed as a spoiler. If you come on to a wrestling forum and not expect to read about what's currently going on you have no one to blame but yourself imo. Thought he was overrated first time round and at 41 I'm not expecting much from his return. Waiting see how he does though, Smackdown could use some more star power. Had no idea he was 41. He's a great wrestler, but tthat's about it.

And not in a Kofi Kingston kind of way where he was ever being held back by it. I disagree completely. Shelton was far from a high spot guy and even less so after his run in Japan. I could think of plenty of guys on the roster, and rosters of other companies, right now that I prefer him over.

I always liked Shelton a lot, and was disappointed he wasn't able to accomplish more. But at this point in the WWE, and his career, I'm more interested in new stars or characters being made, rather than a bunch of retreads
