*PWInsider reports that Jinder Mahal has signed a deal to return to WWE.
His return date hasn't been announced, but the site does note that Mahal will be working exclusively on the RAW brand.
Mahal is the latest in a long list of former stars to return to the company this month, following in the footsteps of Shelton Benjamin, Rhyno and CWC competitors Tajiri and Brian Kendrick. Strong rumours also link Curt Hawkins with a return to the SmackDown brand.
Many internet forums are already ablaze in indignation at the decision to bring back Mahal, lamenting that if WWE wants to enter a new era then resigning jobbers from the past isn't the way to go about it.
Even so, does anyone really expect Mahal to return and find himself in a better position than before? It is most likely that Jinder will be used as an enhancement talent, putting over the new generation of stars. It is a position that works for everybody involved. The fact that it's not Galloway is so depressing, this guy sucked, with everything he done, very boring.

Ugh. I was never even remotely entertained by anything he did.

Nothing says 'bringing in the ratings' like bringing back guys from a few years ago that weren't over and spent most of their time putting over talent!

The only person I seriously care about hearing that WWE would be re-signing is Brian Kendrick.
Sincerely want to see him back full time again. Jinder? What is the point? Who's their next lackluster re-hire? Kenzo Suzuki? Deuce? Orlando Jordan? Shannon Moore?

If it was up to me I'd bring back McIntyre, Kendrick, Sandow, and Bourne.
I'd say Barrett and Rhodes but neither seem to have any interest in returning.

I'd rather them bring in the Green Bastard from Parts Unknown.

Nothing could have been done with Cody Rhodes and/or Damien Sandow, but we've got space for Rhino, Shelton Benjamin, Jinder Mahal, and if the rumors are true, MVP, Stevie Richards, Tommy Dreamer, Carlito, and Tajiri?
Unless they are just going to send these guys out there to get squashed so that people set to fight at a PPV don't have to interact with one another, then this is a really odd move. I hope they are just for squash matches. It sucks when, for example, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are booked for a PPV, but they are involved in matches together every week leading up to the PPV so by the time we get to the PPV they've fought so many times that it's meaningless.

So they released Sandow to make room for this guy? I don't get it. First off, he was never over. Every time he came out, the fans gave no f***s about him. Second, he was not entertaining. Bringing back Shelton Benjamin, I get. Bringing back Rhyno, I get. I heard that Curt Hawkins signed with WWE as well, even this makes more sense than bringjng back Mahal.

Meh, no thanks. I'd like to see Sandow, Bourne, and Galloway return instead.

I guess it works because most people probably didn't even notice he left.

Gotta agree. They knew they were gonna do a brand split and still insisted on keeping Cody as Stardust. I can't think of anyone that would have benefited more from this than a returning Cody Rhodes. Don't see the point of bringing Jinder back. Probably one of the most bland superstars in the last 5 years. I'd be on board for a Carlito return though
