with wind that Jinder Mahal has a deal and is coming back to RAW, i wanted to ask a question to you all
when the 3MB was still on the roster, most people complained that it's ruining Drew Mcintyre's super-stardom; ok that I can kind of understand, but people are completely fine about The New Day, which has 2 to 3 main event stars in the group (Kofi Kingston, Big E Langston, and maybe Xavier Woods) doing even more ridiculous and stupid things; like Booty-os and the unicorn horns and what not (I should mention I love The New Day, before you jump the gun). So my question is: Why is okay for The New Day do their thing (a silly weird gimmick, just like the 3MB, but variations involved) when in turn the 3MB does it, it's not okay (2 mid-carders, 1 main eventer)
TL;DR: Double Standards
if it needs to, you might need to move it to the Classics board

I guess the main thing is that 3MB were used as jobbers, whereas New Day have been given/had a massive amount of success. If 3MB broke the record for longest Tag Title reign, they'd all be a lot better off for it.

They're more over as New Day then any of them have been as singles competitors, so to say they're main event quality is opinion and not fact, I think without the booty-o's, francesca, Twerking and unicorns they probably wouldn't get over as well.
I remember at first everyone hated them now they've become one of the most over teams in WWE history so it's not as if they've always been awesome it's something they've worked on as a team. Without that team they probably wouldn't survive.
3MB again to call anyone main event talent is your own opinion I couldn't imagine any of them selling out arenas.

New Day were intended to be jobbers like 3MB were. However New Day took the gimmick that was meant to be a joke and turned into a success.
3MB could've left the jobber level but sadly all members just sat back and accepted that their was no way out for them.

3MB was entertaining but the gimmick was never going to go any higher than Midcard.....and Midcard jobbers at that.
The New Day turned a crap gimmick into something extremely relevant and entertaining. They deserve everything they get.

New day got themselves over. They took what they were given and ran with it. Just like Ryder did even though wwe didn't push him when he was over.

When New day are in the ring im entertained and laugh with them, when it was 3MB I laughed at them and cringed because it wasn't really funny at all.
The New Day are just a perfect fit, some things just naturally work, and this is one of those times where WWE has got lucky, even after the initial failure that the new day was.
We all know none of these guys were going to be huge stars on their own, but as a group they're going to go down as one of the greatest ever.
The booking also contributes too, but it's mainly down to the fact new day got over on their own with unmatched charisma, humour and dynamic in ring abilities all bringing something different to the table.

Kofi's gimmick was ridiculously stale, Big E flopped with the audience, and Xavier Woods had a ton of untapped talent but was lucky to appear on Superstars. All three of them had nowhere to go but up, and all three carry their own weight.
On the other hand, we had the perpetual joke Slater, bland and boring Jinder, and then the obviously ready to main-event McIntyre. So, at best, 3MB would help the other two and still hold back McIntyre. It might have worked (barely) if Drew was the centerpiece and the other two were his lackeys, but because of his injury Slater would up being the focus of the group instead and he seems to make anyone he partners with fail.

Like others have said, 3MB was a jobber group, and New Day has been champs for almost a year. It's not the gimmick; it's how they've been booked (and, to an extent, the reaction they've gotten from fans).

The difference is the New Day are living they're gimmick while 3MB were just doing their jobs. You can only get so far when you don't believe in what you're doing.

WWE writers are just not that funny.
New Day is getting to do their own stuff.
Drew deserved much, much better.

I would have to say that one of the main differences is that New Day has come about organically, and people like them because it's drenched in irony.
3MB was not organic, in fact is was terribly forced and no one in the group looked comfortable. The only people who liked them were being ironic.

I disagree that The New Day are main eventers. Just because you were in the last match on a raw or smackdown doesn't make you a main eventer. A main eventer can sell out a show by themselves with the rest of the show being jobbers. They are really hot with the crowd and have been for a little bit but they are on and slightly above 'Too Cool' in 2000.
