Will there be an elimination chamber this year? I'm hoping they add the match to survivor series after the brutal series last year.

I used to love the Elimination Chamber but now it is my least favourite match.
It's been done to death and I wouldn't mind if the WWE rested it for a couple of years.

Haven't they rested it for a while though? I'd like to see it. It's the closest thing to War Games that we'll ever have.

I wish they booked gimmick matches like how they did it back in the day and currently in NXT: few and far between so that they mean more. The chamber match sucks now because it's been soooo overdone

Only if it's required I hope. As long as they don't just do it for the sake of having an elimination chamber match.

I'd rather see them bring back War Games

They need to give the chamber, Hell in a Cell, and TLC a break for a couple years until they can actually mean something when a match gets announced.

Agreed, matches like Elimination Chamber and Hell in a Cell were ruined imo when they became PPVs. I miss when these matches were done as a last result to end a fued. The last Elimination Chamber match for the Intercontinental title was horrible to watch lol.

HIAC and Elimination Chamber should go back to being special attractions that only happen once every couple of years. Most of the recent matches have sucked so bad that they've made the match type look incredibly weak compared to how awesome they were when they were only done sporadically.

Dunno why people complain about gimmick matches being used too often. For example the hell in a cell match. Its been used every year since its debut in 97 other than its absence through 2001 it was most used in 98 thrice in one month I believe the first of which being on Monday night raw. EC is just another gimmick match used most years.

Stephanie McMahon stated at some point last year that the Chamber would likely be used more sparingly because of the arena accommodations it requires. Most of the newer/remodeled venues they book have large scoreboard/screen fixtures above where they place the ring, and it makes it hard to properly hang the Chamber because of its size and weight.
That's totally fine by me. It's time to give these gimmick matches a rest so that when they are used, they mean something and they're not just there to fill out a gimmick Pay-Per-View.
The feud should reach a boiling point where the only reasonable solution is a gimmick match, period.

Probably not , they need to be meaningful, hopefully next year once raw and smackdown have very legitimate contenders to make the match intriguing again

They need to give the chamber, Hell in a Cell, and TLC a break for a couple years until they can actually mean something when a match gets announced. That will never happen. The WWE sees these types of matches as PPV events now. Anything to sell a PPV. And plus with this era not having blood or violence, a lot of these matches just make no sense to have anymore. Not saying blood and violence has to be in every match, but I did find the HIAC match with Lesnar vs. Taker last year to be much more enjoyable with the blood being involved from both men.

It was a great match and I heard a story that Vince was furious at both men for the blood loss.
