According to an article on Digital Trends, apparently there's a lot of people who want Rotten Tomatoes shut down because they never give DC films a fair squeeze. In my opinion, the critics that contribute to Rotten Tomatoes seem to be older and more eloquent type people who appreciate films that take a lot of thinking to understand, like the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings films, so they would hate the simplicity of a film like Good Burger or the Friday series. I personally enjoy going to a movie and not having to think about it, I just want to enjoy the action and entertainment. I do enough thinking in school, and when I leave school, I don't want to have to do a lot more thinking, especially when I have to pay for it.

It all depends on the person honestly. I do usually find that rotten tomatoes is pretty close to the mark on reviews.
I didn't think BvS was terrible but I also know it wasn't on Marvel movie par. That being said, despite the early negative reviews for Suicide Squad, Ill still go see it and judge for myself because I'm still intrigued.
A movie like Super Troopers or Waiting isn't likely to get more than 2-3 stars on a review from them but I still find them both funny as hell and entertaining.

Rotten Tomatoes isn't the problem..
Start a petition for WB.. Their the ones pumping out mediocre trash..
I disagree with RT sometimes.. But more often than not they hit the mark.

The guy who started that is going to feel pretty silly if he ends up not liking Suicide Squad.

The thing that people tend to forget is that reviewers are paid to give their opinion. Their opinion doesn't always necessarily reflect the truth for someone else though. Can a movie be "good" despite poor reviews? Absolutely. That's how cult classics are born. Just because a film is reviewed poorly by critics doesn't mean it's a "bad" movie.
There are very few truly horrible movies. If you look hard enough you can find the good in almost anything.
Here's an example. I happen to love the 1996 Kelsey Grammer movie Down Periscope. It's got a 12% rating on RT. You know what most of the reviews say? It was "routine". It was "forgettable". It didn't "break new ground". It's a comedy about a naval war game...what ground do you want broken? Does that mean it's bad because it didn't "break new ground"? Please.

This is seriously one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. Rotten Tomatoes is nothing more than an aggregate. They're not the ones publishing reviews. They're not the ones tearing apart bad movies.
And this has nothing to do with critics not appreciating popcorn blockbusters or only liking sophisticated arthouse films. They usually give high praise to Marvel films. The last several DC movies have been panned by critics because they're subpar and immensely disappointing.
Like someone else said, if they want to petition something, petition DC to stop letting their properties be undermined by disjointed, half baked, soulless films.

Seems like Suicide Squad is getting bad reviews all over the internet. Is he going to start a petition to close down the internet?

utterly & absolutely embarrassing ......Oh man. This brings the "DC movie fan victim syndrome" to ridiculous new heights.
And I thought the Marvel/Disney buying off critics theory was over the top.......
Good GOD.

Who actually reads those critic sites? I rarely read them. I do check out the IMDB Bottom 100 from time to time

Yes, I am. Every time I see a movie I really enjoy, somehow I come across their reviews and they dislike it because it has a simple plot line, regardless of it being entertaining. But then a movie that takes a lot of thinking to really understand, they think they're masterpieces.

It's ludicrous. BvS was hot garbage, terrible Superman, worst Luthor ever, etc. The reviewers are entitled to their opinions, which in that case I agree with. As for Suicide Squad, I'm looking forward to it, and I find it difficult to believe that it is even in the abandoned, dilapidated, lice-ridden ballpark of the steaming pile of feces that was BvS. I'm going in with an open mind either way. I love movies that some people hated and vice versa, that's the way it is. You can't shut down a website over a bad review, no matter how anticipated the film. That's censorship.
On the other hand, DC Superfan is not exactly a claim to fame I'd be proud to tout, especially if I were attempting such a ridiculous crusade. In the immortal words of Ray Patterson, nobody want's to hear the ramblings of a loudmouth malcontent.

The problem is people taking others opinions too seriously. I dont give a crap if 5 billion people hated Batman v Superman or Man of Steel...I greatly enjoyed both and watch them frequently. I have no doubt I will enjoy Suicide Squad (and Ive heard nothing but positive reviews from fellow comic book fans). It seems the only people that complain about the movies are those that think their opinions are relevant.
