Pic Fed Forum specific rules:
1. Your Picture Federations MUST be hosted on a separate website to this, if it isn't the thread will be locked, no questions asked. Examples of where you can put shows include YouTube or your own Proboards forum.
2. Please REPLY to feds if you watch them. The general rule is "reply for reply", so if you're not replying to other people's shows, chances are they won't reply to yours.
3. Respect other people. Do not argue over the boards, use PMs or, better yet, just drop it.
4. ALL Previews are to be posted on the Discussion Board. The main page is only for new shows.
5. Any bumping of old threads will result in it being locked.
Enjoy your stay in the WF Figure Fed Forums!

REMINDER:
By participating in the Wrestlingfigs.com forums, you agree to the following Terms of Service:
Flaming, Bashing, and Fighting
Hate posts and personal attacks will not be tolerated on the WF Forums, and this includes bashing new users. While some things are all in good fun, be careful not to cross the line. If you strongly feel the need to bash/fight/argue, then the Wrestlingfigs.com forums are not for you..
Profanity and Racial Slurs
Profanity and Racial Slurs are strictly prohibited. Do not make an attempt to beat the built-in censors, as they are there for a reason.
Obscenity
Any obscene images or vulgar statements are absolutely not tolerated. We at WF are all here for good, clean fun.
Spamming Posts
Although members are encouraged to be active message posters, purposely spamming a message board to gain post counts is not allowed and unfair to all the users who have earned their post counts legitimately. This includes such things one or two word "lol", "I agree", or quote only replies and image only posts. Members who spam solely for post totals will be dealt with accordingly. A warning will first be issued, but the if the problem persists, any WF Administrator reserves the right to dock a fair amount of posts from that member.
General Posting/Off-Topic Posts
We require all posts to be positive, constructive, and on topic. We will delete individual posts that may ruin a good topic thread. Although posting off topic isn't the end of the world, it is still not allowed. There are many other varied WF forum subjects available to post in. Please take a look at all the boards within our forum to make sure your topic applies to the board you are posting it to.
Signature & Avatar Images
Signature Images should be no larger than 300 Pixels High and/or 300 Pixels Long, and no larger than 250k. If the image is a bit larger either way we will certainly let it slide, but do not go overboard with the size! Large images take long to load, especially for our friends with slower connections, and images too long can distort the screen for users with smaller screen sizes.

Tips for Creating a Pic Fed
Tips for Creating a Pic Fed
- Start out with a small roster including 10-20 superstars. Having a huge roster can result in guys getting lost in the shuffle which is never good. By having a smaller roster, you can focus more on specific storylines and stop the viewer from becoming confused.
- Have at least a Heavyweight title division. The wrestlers all need something to fight for. Secondary titles are also good for the mid card and a strong Tag division is always good to have.
- Ensure that you know the basic moveset for each character on your roster. It makes your federation unrealistic if you have Undertaker doing moonsaults, for example.
- Watch other people's shows for inspiration. Every fedder has their own unique style to their shows, and so should you. That doesn't mean that you can't take inspiration from somebody else's visual style and put your own spin on it, applying it to your style. Just don't plagiarise from other fedders!
- Use a good quality camera. I use a Canon EOS 700D which takes great quality pictures, but you don't need a DSLR to get good shots. For a while, I used my iPhone camera and the picture quality on it was very nice.
- If you are going to use a phone camera, please use proper lighting!!! Nobody wants to see dark, grainy, blurry pictures. You can get good fluorescent lamps on Amazon for example. Three Point Lighting is a style that you should try to use. It involves a key light and a fill light in the front and a third lamp shining from the back. Using three lamps will reduce the amount of shadows in your shot. If you are using a proper camera, use the Macro function. This was made for taking close up pictures in which the subjects are in focus. The symbol for this is a flower. If you can't find it, consult the instruction guide that came with your camera or look up your model on the internet.
- Have a good arena set up. Whether this means getting the Extreme Sets arena backdrop or just using solid black or white poster board, your background should be somewhat realistic. Nobody wants to see your cat walking through the back of your arena or your pile of dirty laundry behind your ring.
- A steady hand will be really useful when taking pictures. If you shake your hand even by the slightest amount, the picture will likely come out blurry. Always check your pictures as soon as you take them to ensure that they are in focus and the angle is right. Don't just assume it turned out okay. It may be worth retaking those blurry pictures! Some people may invest in a tripod which helps tremendously. Again, you can get them pretty cheap online.
- When taking pictures of high flying moves, use string such as thin fishing wire or a thin line of thread which is the same colour as your backdrop. You can edit this out on Photoshop, or Pixlr.com if you don't have it. You can use the clone stamp tool to remove string.
- You can also improve your poses by taking inspiration from pictures on the WF Wrestling Figure Poses and Action Shots Board which can be found here: wfigs.proboards.com/board/59

Suggestions for a Successful Pic Fed
Suggestions for a Successful Pic Fed
- Write basic and easy to follow storylines which the viewer can easily understand.
- If you are using commentary, try to avoid consistent spelling errors and cursing. These may make your fed seem immature.
- As mentioned before, having a smaller roster helps prevent characters from being lost in the shuffle.
- Make meaningful feuds to maintain the viewer's entertainment and keep them coming back!

Tips for Your First Show
- Try to include around 3 matches and fill out the rest of the show with backstage segments, such as interviews and the like. This will give your roster an opportunity to introduce themselves and explain their agenda on your roster.
- Keep Stipulation Matches for PPVs. There's no point having a Steel Cage match on your debut show as nobody knows why the two superstars need a Steel Cage to fight in! Explain the feud through your first few shows then build up to a Stipulation Match at the PPV!
- Make sure you have a referee to officiate your matches. If you don't have one, Mattel has made referee shirts which you can likely get on eBay.

Editing Your Show
Editing Your Show
- In recent years, many fedders have switched from forum based Federations to YouTube Feds. Here are some tips on how to edit your show. For the purpose of this tutorial, I will be referencing Windows Movie Maker as that is what most beginners start off with.
- Import your pictures by clicking on the "add videos and photos" button on the top left of the screen. From there you can adjust the length by going to the "video tools" section and adjusting the duration. I find that 1 second per image works best for me. Experiment with different lengths to see which you prefer.
- You can add music and sound effects by clicking on "add music" in the home tab. You can download sound effects and the like from YouTube by using a YouTube to MP3 converter online
- Using effects such as a fade in from black/fade out to black help with presentation and help prevent abrupt endings.
- Sometimes WMM crashes if you import too many pictures, so I suggest editing and saving each match/segment individually then putting them all together once you're finished in a separate project.
- When rendering, always set save it for high definition display to ensure maximum quality.
