They didn't really mesh that well. Ambrose was almost too chill for it.

I think it was dissapointing half the stuff he probably wasn't allowed to bring up was like his history in CZW deathmatch wrestling and a lot of his childhood and it definitely seemed Austin was getting pissed when he brought up some of his childhood the fact that he shoplifted and was a high school drop out
This is why I hate the Steve Austin podcast both Dean and Steve were puppets with McMahon pulling the strings

I finally watched it last night. There were definitely some awkward moments, but it wasn't as bad as i was expecting. Austin just kept pushing some topics and Ambrose just kept blowing those off. To be fair, when the two were actually talking about wrestling, they seemed to be on the same page. But, the personal stuff wasn't gaining any traction. At times Austin looked to be visibly pissed and Ambrose looked agitated conversely. Especially when Austin said Ambrose was resting on his laurels now. The near train wreck of a show was entertaining to me though, but I'm willing to bet Austins next podcast will veer into "safer" territory.......Cena? Roman? Lol

So asking personal questions that nobody should have the right to without consent is "lighting a fire on his ass" or "making him prove he's worthy of his spot?" WTF does that mean? That's pretty ed up. I love Dean. He's a hard worker and an overall awesome personality. People clamor for new talent to be placed on top and when it happens everyone turns on them. It makes absolutely no sense.

I didn't think it was that bad. Austin was simply trying to get more answers out of Ambrose, which is the point of his podcast. Ambrose is just a laid back person in general though. He was the same in both Talk Is Jericho podcasts he was on as well.

If Dean had gone on the podcast acting like a happy Big Show or something I would have been disappointed. I thought he did just what his character would do in that situation.

I don't like listening to Ambrose he rambles on without much direction and looses me before he finishes. I tried watching the podcast but it was awkward in places.

Austin certainly seemed to try to steer it down a narrative that I don't think Ambrose felt represented him. I think Ambrose was of the mindset that he had a good childhood and it wasn't notable and Austin saw public housing, divorced parents, etc. and assumed it'd be some sort of sob story. I know plenty of people who had pretty poor childhoods and if you take it at a glance you'd assumed it wasn't pleasant but you hear them talk about it and they're like Dean "Didn't really realize we were poor, it was a good time."
That being said Ambrose almost sort of seemed like he was on something, the rambling, the slow reaction time, slight slurring, the stuttering. He's laid back but that was a little too incomprehensible, even for him.

I watched it and it wasn't as bad as people are making it out to be, Austin was only asking follow up questions. Dean did seem a bit uncomfortable but he managed to give his answer and didn't really blow it off. Although Dean did ramble a lot and lost my interest into what he was talking about.

The bit where he mentioned stepping away from the business to work at a fitness club, Austin's entire head went red. Why was Ambrose sandbagging him the entire time?

I feel like Austin was trying so hard here and Ambrose was being so stubborn.

I actually thought it was quite funny and you could tell that Austin was furious by the end.
I honestly believe Austin thought he was going to get the kayfabe Ambrose but instead get's this chilled, awkward dude lol.
