The roster was announced maybe 20 mins ago. You can go here to look at the list: www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=8747&hubname=What are your thoughts? I think Eric Staal should have been on the main roster, not on reserves. But then I dont know who should be kicked out. Still a great team though! ;D GO CANADA GO

Damn, you beat me to post this I too wish Staal made the team. His parents house is only a 4 min drive from mine, so it was the big talk around town today. I'm surprised they took a chance and picked up Nash, since he's only recently been able to play. I'm glad they picked Bertuzzi, seeing as how they truly believe in the guy, regardless of the past incident.

I still don't think Draper should be on the team. Other than that, Great.

Rick Nash is a waste. He hasn't played yet at all. Staal should be there instead.
I would have also liked to see CuJo there instead of Luongo.

Luongo > Any other Canadian eligible goalie other then Brodeur
I like the team we're putting out this year. Errr, well, next year. I'd rather Staal then Doan but I'm not incharge of those situations.
GO CANADA GOOOO.
First Victim = Italy.

I'm still undecided if I have any huge beefs about the team, but either way the fact still remains: Canada could enter 3 teams and win Gold, Silver and Bronze. Tough decisions and a great squad in the end, as long as it ends up being gold.

Here's my thoughts.. They shouldn't had Shane Doan on it, as well Kris Draper.. And even Rick Nash as well.. I wouldn't even had Cublow on Team Canada, so I'm glad they picked the right three people. I'm so pissed off at Team Canada for not putting Spezza, and Staal on the main roster.. THIS IS THE FUTURE OF TEAM CANADA. Man, I can't wait for 2010.. That Team Canada will be the FUTURE of everything. Ah, SHANE DOAN!

Luongo is struggling in the regular season, and the rules at the Olympics will be the same as the new NHL rules, so I see no reason why Luongo will some how play any different at the Olympics.
Hopefully Turco is the second goalie instead of Luongo.
And I'm surprised Bryan McCabe is even on the taxi squad. He can put a puck in the net on the power play, but he's not that great in his own zone.

Kris Draper and Shane Doan should be replaced with Spezza and Stahl.

He's struggling with the fact that Scott Stevens and Scott Niedermeyer are no longer in front of him. Luongo and Belfour are both butterfly style goalies and struggling big time.

Actually, The Olympics are played under the OLD set of rules. Because the size of the rink (Being bigger). And To trypod, Luongo hasn't been struggling as much as the panthers have been. The team is a mess. If you slapped Luongo on a team like Philly, Vancouver, Detriot, Ottawa, maybe even half decent teams likes the Avs, Habs, Sabres and Bruins, he'd have completely different numbers. I still think that he is one of the top three goalies Canada could put out.

I know what's got me confused. The referees have been instructed to call it as they have with the new rules, so that's what confused me. My apologies!

well being a born and raised sooite the home of marty turco and the place where foote, thorton, and the great one himself were trained i was estatic when i heard turco was on the team but i agree that he should be backup no luongo and with syd the kid i think the team canada management were right and waiting til 2010 for syd the kid to be on the team but as i stated before phaneuf is by far one of the best canadian defence player this year to date but im sure crosby would of made it if he was on a half decent team that he could work with better then he is now.
