I am in between ending school and starting my new job, so I had time to kill this summer. Decided to break out the wrestling figures and below is what I have been building towards.
Warning: The thread is kinda long because I give the card and the backstory for each match.
Empire vs the World Presents
Power Trip
WvW Championship
Undertaker(c)vs Austin Aries
Austin Aries won a Fatal5way match to earn the right to challenge the Undertaker for the Championship in the main event.
TV Championship
The Rock(c)vs …
This will be The Rock’s first defense after winning the title off of Rey Misterio.
(The TV Championship is defended under battle royal rules. Basically everyone in the promotion with a few exceptions is thrown into the match.)
Managers Series Final
Chris Jericho Mg/ Mick Foley vs Raven Mg/Sunny
After Vince McMahon finally realized that he had complete dominance of the industry, he decided that it was time for him to step down as the authority for EvW. To choose his replacement to take charge of the showcase promotion, he started the Managers Series and picked 10 people that could fill his shoes (former champions, managers, and commissioners). Each manager would then pick a wrestler to manage. The winning manager that could manage their champion to the most points in the series would take Mr. McMahon’s place after SuperCard. The winning wrestler would earn the main event Championship match at SuperCard. After a long and unfair series, it comes down to Chris Jericho managed by Mick Foley (with 18 points) vs Raven managed by Sunny (with 17 points). Who will manage their way to become the boss of EvW? And who will earn their way into the Main Event at SuperCard?
CM Punk vs The Demon
+Last Man Standing
These are the two wrestlers and the match that should have been the final for the Managers Series. Both had the most points (the Demon with 28 and CM Punk with 37). But due to the death of Rowdy Roddy Piper, The Demon’s Manager, Mr. McMahon decided it would be unfair for someone else to come in and take over what Piper had earned. So the Demon was taken out of the series. At the same time, Lucy Lawless (CM Punk’s manager) due to the long hiatus that EvW was on, had to drop out of the series to move on to other projects. Mr. McMahon dropped Punk out of the series using the same reasoning he did for the Demon’s situation.
Being the leader on the board and the being dropped enraged Punk, who backstage attacked the Demon. They brutally fought backstage all night. Mr. McMahon ordered that no one interfere or try to stop them. After they both settled down, McMahon booked them in the Last Man Standing match to settle their grudge.
Tag Team Championships
Road Dogg and Billy Gunn(c) vs Sandman and Terry Funk
+Hardcore rules
+If NAO do not defend, they are stripped of the titles
+ Chainsaws not allowed; only way for a DQ
The New Age Outlaws were awarded the Tag Team Championship while the former champions (HHH and Shawn Michaels) were busy with the Managers Series. Mr. McMahon allowed this but ordered that the Outlaws had to defend their titles to keep them. In a hardcore tag team title defense against the Sandman and Terry Funk, the Outlaws abandoned the match. Mostly out of arrogance, but it didn’t help that Funk started threatening them with a chainsaw and throwing it around. The Outlaws were booked into another title defense also under hardcore rules against Terry Funk and Gangrel. Once again, Funk pulls out a chainsaw and the champions tried to bail. Funk kept them from leaving, but the Roaddogg was able to hit his finisher to retain. McMahon then booked this Power Trip match with the following stipulations so that the titles would have to be defended.
AJ Styles vs John Cena vs Marco Corleone vs Seth Rollins
Steve Austin vs HHH
+Cage Match
Austin was looking for a good fight on the second night back from EvW’s hiatus, and he thought he would get it from HHH. That is until Shawn Michaels interfered in the match giving HHH the win. Austin was more pissed at Michaels interference than actually loosing . He challenged the WWE COO to a cage match, so nothing could interfere with the fight he wanted. As much as HHH tried to get out of it, McMahon sanctioned it as good for business.
Womens Championship
Lita(c) vs Brie Bella
+ Lumberjill match - Velvet Sky, Nikki Bella, Sable, and Daffney
On first night after hiatus, Lita defended her Womens Championship against Nikki Bella. She defeated the Bella quickly, soundly, and solidly to retain. Enraged by her sister’s defeat, Brie Bella attacked Lita with a ferocity never seen from the E! reality star. Brie had a guaranteed championship match, so it was booked for Power Trip and made a Lumberjill match to keep it in the ring.
Bret Hart, Kevin Nash, and X-pac vs Sydistico, Gangrel, and Stevie Richards
(This match and the tag title match are to help build up to a Kliq vs Flock angle I got going that will influence a lot of the card for SuperCard.)
WWE Championship
Dean Ambrose(c) vs Cody Rhodes
Dean Ambrose will open Power Trip making an open challenge to defend the WWE Championship against anyone not WWE affiliated.
