I've had the same problem with various black singlet figures since 2010. It's rare I buy an Undertaker that doesn't have it.

Not sure why Mattel did this. They started doing it to MOTUC figures a while back too and they don't even wear tights! Just painting flesh over black for no reason. It's dreadful.

With so much of that torso being exposed flesh anyhow, it's honestly bewildering that they would even cast it in black in the first place. Can't they just do the joint part in black and then the upper torso in flesh, since it's primarily flesh?

The obvious answer is black plastic + flesh-tone paint costs less than flesh-tone plastic with black paint. Then why is the lower torso flesh colored plastic with black paint? It's pretty obvious by his pic this is not the case though...

Vince McMahon didn't screw Bret Hart. Mattel screwed Bret Hart.

I flat out refuse to buy any figures like this. I would've bought this Brett, the new Warrior, and the upcoming RSE Sting figure, but not now. So, Mattel how much money did you save by using this "cost-cutting" measure?

I don't really understand why they even do it. More of the flesh is showing than not so I would think it's cheaper to use flesh color plastic. I wish Mattel just answered why they do it We'll never get the answers to the questions we really want answered unless one of us steps up like @shockwayne The *cough* videos are always sht questions I'll be at Ringside Fest again this year bringin the heat

for some reason I'm reminded of the blind kid in dumb and dumber - this is THAT kind of a gift. Seriously though - yikes! So what's the protocol on something like this? What would you all do, return it to the store, mattel?

It's not Bills fault, he plans and designs the figures. I'm sure he has zero input in production

He's chief designer, this abomination is part of the design. Do something MattelDesignTeam or at least a lay our concerns with a comment confirming this snide practice will cease immediately.
