i actually kind of like it. i dont love it, but i dont hate it. people go  ing ape crap over the yellow strapped IC belt, or the light blue winged eagle so whats the difference? its meant to stand out from the other belts, it's the color of RAW. why should they go through the process of creating another new belt design when this one already works and in a few years when they end the brand split again they can unify both belts without everyone bitching about wanting a specific belt design back My problem isn't the color (ugly as it may be), mine is that's it's just a wrinkled up ugly version of The WWE Title. Literally nothing different other then the color. |

Not a fan at all. I would have liked to see something different. This too closely resembles the other wwe title. I would have liked something resembling the old winged eagle belt.

I try not to be too harsh or negative in most of my posts, but my goodness that thing is atrocious. It just plain sucks. I'm not crazy about the actual WWE titles design, but by not making this unique,it totally undermines the point of having a "world" champion on Raw. They might as well be contending for a mattel toy belt. Its got the same design and means nothing just like that one. "Hey guys....we're fighting for a replica championship over on Raw! Come watch us pretend its important!!!"

No offense, but if anyone was expecting anything official, especially something like the winged-eagle belt, you were fooling yourselves. What we got is pretty much what I expected, aside from the red strap. I don't like it, as I would've preferred something similar to belts of the past, some kind of planet would be nice, but they like the network logo. It could've been worse, it could've been the Raw logo.

Why are they copying UFC. I thought the point was to have unique looking title belts. It's called the Universal Championship not the WWE Mark 2 Championship. Women's was different but even I didn't like that being the same. If the US and IC ever go to this look it's stupid might as well have 1 title.

Its a new title which would bring a new history to it along with a different lineage of champions. But what did the WWE decide to do? They decided to just stick with the same big logo design from their previous belts. Same route used for the Women's title, now this one too. Horrible. Simply horrible. No offense to the belt maker and all, but its the WWE's fault for not being creative enough to come up with a new design. At this rate, the upcoming Cruiserweight title, SD Womens title and SD tag titles would probably be using the same design too but with different strap colours and subtle detail changes on the plate... Oh dear......
On the bright side, I can save my money and not get a new replica since this is basically the same belt over at Smackdown, which I must say, looks better. God forbid, I hope they don't change the SD WWE World C'ship to an all blue strap or something. Just leave it the way it is.

The red strap kills it for me. Can't see that really looking for on everyone. It'll work for Balor, but few others I think. I get that they wanted to go with a similar design to the WWE World Championship to sort of put them on an equal playing field (which is apparently below anything Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are doing), but this is a huge miss IMO. Why not just take the existing WWE World Titles design and change the gold parts to platinum/silver color. Then you have something that not only looks similar, but doesn't come off as kinda cheap and still is visually striking enough to stand on it's own and look good regardless of who holds it.

The belt was garbage. The red strap doesn't work, and the part that said UNIVERSAL CHAMPION was a STICKER! They didn't even have a new belt made with "Universal Champion" engraved, it was legit a STICKER that they pasted over where it actually says World Heavyweight Champion. And they clearly just took some black acrylic paint and painted over the red swoosh, because you can see where the red is actually showing in some spots because they did such a sloppy job.
WWE is getting really lazy with the Titles.

This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't a garbage design to begin with. The WWE title has a long history of strap color variations, the belt that Stasiak, Bruno, Superstar, and Backlund held had like 4 colors over the years.
The problem is that the belt is a ridiculous attempt at increasing exposure of their logo.
It's the physical embodiment of writing in all caps.
"HEY GUYS THIS IS THE WWE TITLE, YOU CAN TELL BECAUSE OF THE WWE LOGO"

I'm in the minority that doesn't have a big problem with it.
However, it was me, I'd have the titles differentiated, not by the colour of the strap, but by the colour of the underscore on the WWE logo (red/blue), the jewels (rubies/sapphires)and the colour of the globes on the side-plates.
I have no problem with the titles all following the same design, but I feel like giving it a bright coloured strap undermines their efforts for legitimacy.

I like it I think it's good how the top 2 titles and women's title look the same gives a feel of equality.
