Looking at my collection the other day I started to think which figures have the best head scan.....
Modern wrestlers go through the process of using scanning machine to get their facial features...while Legends wrestler are created by using photo reference and the sculptor uses them to make a Headscan.
Which ones do you think is the best technique for a great Headscan? Which figures you think have a great Headscan? Which Headscan need improvement?

Both usually have great scans/sculpts that are held back by so-so to outright bad paint jobs.

I can't vote because I don't even know what any of the current wrestlers look like. (Brock and John cena and big show look ok I guess) The legends are hit or miss.
I'm dying to see my Harlem heat for the first time.

I think with recent abominations such as Charlotte, the new Brock exclusive thing, Lana, Renee and I'm sure there are more, the legends have come out better

Legends usually come out better for me. Even if it's an expression I'm not fond of (Sid and 1-2-3 Kid for instance) they still look the part

I think it all depends on the actual wrestler, for example: HBK's flashback scans (RSC, WM30, Rockers) have so much more better likeness compared to his 'modern' scans. But I much prefer The Rock's more recent scans compared to his Legends 6 scan. It's really a hit or miss imo.

I collect Legends only, though I do still enjoy watching the new era guys.
My current display features tag teams, I have:
- Mega Powers, Hulk & Macho Man - Hart Foundation, Jim & Bret - Legion of Doom, Hawk & Animal - Nasty Boyz, Sags & Knobbs - Bushwackers, Luke & Butch - Money Inc, I.R.S & Ted Dibiase - The Rockers, Michaels & Jannetty
Now looking out for Typhoon to team up with Earthquake to form The Natural Disasters, Smash, Ax & Crush to form Demolition & Akeem to partner Big Boss Man for The Twin Towers.
Now hopefully one day we will get The Steiner Bros, Power and Glory & perhaps the Dynamite Kid so we have the British Bulldogs :-)

Based on Road Dogg and JYD alone, Legends FTW!

I think it all comes down to paint apps. A figure could have an amazing, lifelike sculpt, but if the eyes are too big, or eyebrows are too thick, it can throw the whole thing off. Or there is just one or two tiny things just off enough that it isn't exact.
That being said; all four of the warrior sculpts are pretty decent, HBKs too. One the other hand, a guy like Bret Hart, I don't think has had a sculpt that really looks like him.

Depends on the individual figure.

I'm 99.9 percent sure that Bill has said that they actually scan old photos of the legends. I remember a old video of them showing a sculptor look at pics of wrestlers and going by that. Maybe with the new technology they can now scan pictures.

If you do get the chance to grab Demolition, def DO! They look so good with all they're accessories. The Steiner Bros is one of those figures that makes me want to slap Scott Steiner for not wanting to sign a legends deal.
