I just got back from the fantasy draft that I do with 12 of my other friends, and I like my team so far. I had the #4 pick.
We draft individual defensive players, and are required to start:
1 QB 2 RB 3 WR 1 TE 1 K 2 DL 2 LB 2 DB
with 8 bench spots.
Here's my roster:
QB - Peyton Manning RB - Deuce McAllister RB - Carnell Williams WR - Javon Walker WR - Ashley Lelie WR - Anquan Boldin TE - L.J. Smith K - Sebastian Janikowski DE - Patrick Kerney DE - Adewale Ogunleye LB - James Ferrior LB - Will Weatherspoon DB - Dunta Robinson DB - Nate Clements Bench - Fred Taylor Bench - Braylon Edwards Bench - Willie Parker Bench - Justin McCareins Bench - Steve McNair Bench - Lito Sheppard Bench - LaVarr Arrington Bench - Ricky Williams

I am baffled by the amount of times I have seen Manning go lower than third... He should probably be the third player selected.
Nice team, solid on the defensive side, which is often hard to do in individual player drafts

Ronnie Brown > Cadillac....But still a very nice team Ronnie Brown generally went higher in drafts than Cadillac. In my opinion Cadillac is going to have the bigger year, and ultimately win offensive rookie.

I missed the higher profile DE's unfortunately, so I took the opportunity to shore up other positions. And the only people that should be higher than Mannng are Tomlinson, and Alexander.

neither ronnie brown nor cadillac williams should be drafted higher than a basement pick. the only rookie worth the risk of drafting before round 10 is jj arrington, because he's the guaranteed starter and running behind a good run-blocking line. brown = bad line, not guaranteed to start throughout the season. carnell = bad line, not guaranteed to get the bulk of carries.
qb- same combo from your last team if im not mistaken, so they garner the same rating. A
rb- don't like williams as a starter, for the reasons mentioned above. fred taylor's ascension to health makes him a steal in most drafts, but he never scores too many td's. willie parker is a holdover for a few weeks, id be ready to waive him once bettis and staley get back. mcallister is a top 10 fantasy back though, im just not crazy about the depth. ricky williams is a safe, late pick. C-
wr- as you know, i love lelie and fitz this year. javon is favre's go-to guy(even after the offseason troubles), so he's a great fantasy pick as well. don't like braylon this year, but mccareins is good for 60 catches as a bench player for you. A
te- l.j. smith is a red zone threat, caught only 30 passes last year but 6 were for td's. with chad lewis out of philly, smith becomes the go-to TE target and should have a big year. but id try to address depth, because lj smith is injury prone. B
k- janikowski will be a busy man with that offense this year. his value in the PAT department alone makes him a better pick than 50% of the league's kickers. B+
dl- both are pretty feasable... i like fantasy de's who force turnovers and also get a lot of sacks, like the charles grants and julius peppers's of the world. but ogun and kerney will both produce enough. B
lb- two great starting lb's. top-5 fantasy LB's in my book, they rack up tackles and force turnovers. A+
db- once again, two of the best in the fantasy game. dunta robinson had safety-esque stats as a rookie last year, and he should improve even further on that. both of buffalo's starting corners have good fantasy value, so i like the clements pick. A
---
i kind of like your other team better because i feel you're safer at RB in that league, and im an RB kind of guy... both are good teams though

I am baffled by the amount of times I have seen Manning go lower than third... He should probably be the third player selected. I don't see why. Yes, he had an unbelievable season last year, but you can't expect it to happen again. He's #7 on my list: 1) Tomlinson 2) Alexander 3) Holmes 4) Moss 5) Holt 6) Harrison 7) Manning I suppose it depends on how your league scores, though. ----------------- Obviously Manning is a great pick. McAllister is a pimp, Carnell Williams should be decent. Your receivers are the highlight of your team - no one is a huge fantasy player, but all should be good. L.J. Smith is a top TE. Janikowski is great. ... Don't know much about defense, but you got two of my three favorite corners (Clements, Robinson, Smoot).
