Daniel Bryan and The Miz are both 35 years old.
Bryan started wrestling in 1999 and actually signed a developmental WWF contract in 2000, he also wrestled in WWE in 2003, however he spent most his time in the independent promotions from 2001-2009. Then on to WWE.
The Miz started wrestling in 2003 and was on Tough Enough in 2004, went to developmental from 2004-2006 before making his WWE debut.
Bryan 18 different independent championships WWE world heavyweight champion WWE world champion 3x WWE intercontinental champion WWE tag team champion WWE US champion
The Miz DSW heavyweight champion OVW tag team champion WWE champion WWE US champion 2x WWE intercontinental champion 5x WWE tag team champion 6x
I think both were very successful, I also think if Bryan stayed in WWE when he first came in, he might not have gotten the chance to learn in the independent scene and his career may have been more like the Miz's than his own. He might still be wrestling, but there wouldn't have been the "yes" movement, or the WM moment in that way, because the "story" of making it after all those years played such a huge part.

I cant name one Miz one on one match that was even remotely memorable. The guys whole career has been extremely mediocre and forgettable.

Miz is not a wrestler, he's a sports entertainer. Same thing. It's like saying "Brock Lesnar isn't a UFC fighter, he's an octagon combatant." No. Professional Wrestling has existed for over 100 years. Sports Entertainment, which is Vince's bastardization of pro wrestling, has only existed for about 30.

It's the same thing, just Vince McMahon thinks saying "sports entertainment" sounds more accessible/mainstream, and insecure fans think saying "pro wrestling" sounds more legitimate. Nobody with any sense of perspective cares about either term.

Daniel Bryan - wrestling purest, who worked all over the world making a name for himself before finally getting a shot in the big leagues. One of the only guys in WWE history, who was forced into the main event scene by the fans, despite the fact that they chopped this guys legs out from under him, time and time again. Miz - a reality TV show, C-list actor, who learned how to bump and run some ropes. Guy was never able to draw a dime. Happy?

Although I guess fans encouraged him to work recklessly and cut his career short, so yeah, perhaps they did.
