I do really hope its classic packaging. While I am mainly collecting the Legends I might pick up a few current guys depending on the wrestler. I am excited to see guys who never had a Hasbro like Mankind, Austin, Rock, Triple H, Diesel and also some who had Hasbros made like Bam Bam, Andre. Who knows we might even get to finally have a Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart Hasbro style. I hope they add belts in the future as well as rings.

Still on my list to one day have a complete MOC hasbro collection. It's what I plan on doing when I get a bit older (lol says me at 35 now - but if I ever grow up and stop buying the current stuff is what I'm trying to say).
I will most likely be collecting all of these as long as the packaging is 'close' and a tribute to the originals in someway. An outstanding idea by Mattel.

They should definitely use Hasbro style packaging. It's a no-brainer I think. I just hope we actually get them here in the UK. If its a Walmart exclusive we may get them at Asda. Same with the TNF Elites. I hope they do come to the UK... I think times have changed and we are more likely to see them in stores in this country, but which? Wondering if just because they are a Walmart exclusive in the US that may be different for international markets. I want to be able to walk into Smyths and/or Toys r Us and see the full range on the shelves! Waited 20+ years for this!

Has it been confirmed yet that the new figures will be in scale with the previous Hasbro series? They looked a bit big to me when Bill revealed them.

As the rumored 12th series was ment to have orange carding, I think it would only be fitting if this set went that way. Or if not, go back to the original neon blue.

It's funny, I didn't really think about the On-Card look until reading through this thread. If it's retro style I'd probably be tempted to mess with these.

I hope they're retro in some sense. I doubt they can copy full out since Hasbro's still around, but I hope they can get in the same size/style overall. Anything but boxes.

I'll be the downer that goes against what everything on here wants (let me say tho that i agree with you all that it would awesome) BUT I can't really see Mattel replicating their main rivals packaging. They will want people calling them Mattel ? figures, as it currently stands we are referring to them as hasbro style figures. If the packaging is similar to the old hasbro packaging it will continue that hasbro tag on. Mattel will want these to have their own Mattel themed identity - if that makes sense. And I bang on about this but once again these figures are directed at the kids - who have zero idea what a hasbro wrestling figure is. I really hope I am wrong, I just don't see it happening.

What about a ring to go with these?

What about a ring to go with these? I was thinking they could just make pint-sized ring posts for the spring rings and make clip-on ring steps and commentary table, and with Bill being the Michael Bay of toy designers, it will be epic and breakable.

I think these are either going to sell like hotcakes or warm for all eternity. No in-between

I have the feeling these are going to be miss in action at most WMs after seeing how consistent they are putting anything expected on shelves where I live.

I used to love these as a kid, but only due to them being all that was available. The articulation is booty on these and I like my wrestling figures being able to wrestle.
If the packaging is retro, complete with the black and white figure illustrations on the back, I might pick up a few and keep them MOC for old times sake. I used to love walkinh into KB Toys in the early 90s seeing the figures. I have an old school section in my office complete with a CRT TV and old game consoles. I would love to have a few of these on the shelf.
