I want all three Shield members out of their respective title pictures. Let's get some new people in there! But Ambrose just got there. Plus he's like one of the only main eventers on Smackdown. Just? SummerSlam 2016 - vs Dolph Ziggler for the WWE World Championship Battleground 2016 - vs Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns for the WWE World Championship Roadblock 2016 - vs Triple H for the WWE World Championship Survivor Series 2015 - vs Roman Reigns for the WWE World Championship Money in the Bank 2015 - vs Seth Rollins for the WWE World Championship Payback 2015 - vs Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns & Randy Orton for the WWE World Championship He's been in and out of the title picture for well over a year now.

As champ though. Rollins had all last year, and Reigns had TLC (I think?) to Rumble, then at Mania to Battleground where they were champs. Ambrose is in his first title reign, which I think has lasted two months?

Very happy for Owens, going to be a great champ. HHH returning was good.

Owens was by far the most logical choice at this moment and I'm chuffed that they went with him. I'm sure the Reigns experiment will be revisited one day but even they are aware that it needed being put on hold. I had a feeling it wouldn't be Rollins, as otherwise they'd of just gone with him at Summerslam, and it's obviously far too soon for Big Cass. Owens on paper still appears as an outside bet in comparison to Reigns & Rollins, and it really drums home the 'New Era' direction they want to take it in. It's evident they are fully open to fresh alternatives now. It's as though they've got nothing to lose anymore so are willing to run with it. In a way I guess it takes away some of the value of having Balor & Owens win the big one in such a short space of time with no real build or Wrestlemania type moment, but I'd still rather them.
A Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho programme for the Title can be absolutely golden now, and the Triple H vs Rollins situation leaves us wanting more. I'm surprised they aren't holding out until Wrestlemania for this though, maybe we get Triple H vs Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania now instead.

I wish I could've seen the look on Jim Cornette's face when he found out about Owens.

Thus then Kevin Owens is WWE Champion Thats what they want us to think, but do two titles have the same lineage when not unified? I think its their way of preserving Flair, Cena, HHH, Orton records. Id like them to be as prestigious, but they feel like glorified mid card titles. Whats the point of IC and US titles when NXT title is basically the stepping stone they used to be.

I am happy that Owens is the main champion on RAW now and is more then likely alined with Triple H,but as a few other pointed out even being the new Universal Champion it doesn't feel like he won the real BIG ONE or for that matter the world title.I get the whole point in making a second world title but its not on the same level as the WWE Title that will always be THE BIG ONE and the one title in pro wrestling that mean more then anything else.To me with Owens wining the Universal Title it kind of feel like he just won the IC Title, from back in the day like the 80's and mid 90's when the title actually meant something.Maybe my mind will change during his reign as champion and hopefully on how strongly the title is booked, but no matter what it'll always be viewed in my eyes as a runners up title.
Now when AJ Styles wins the real world title in the WWE Title I am going to be so hyped and happy beyond words.

Thus then Kevin Owens is WWE Champion Still doesn't mean he's the WWE Champion, that honour goes to Dean Ambrose. The Universal title hasn't even existed for 2 weeks and isn't on par in any way, shape or form with the WWE Championship that Ambrose hold as far as prestige and history goes. It might as well be a toy belt. Dean Ambrose is WWE Champion. Kevin Owens is "Universal Champion".

Buddy Rogers won the first WWE chanpionship. Now years later it doesnt matter what people thought at the time, thats the big one and he had it. Maybe 10 years from now some of you guys will get it. The Raw title is the main title. Always. Did u guys forget the original brand split already? Where were you when Benoit won the belt? I remember everyone marking out, not so much saying it didnt feel right because it wasnt the WWE belt. Everyone forgets that the WWE belt was 2nd to the WHC from 03-07. And when it came back to Raw it went right back to #1.
Dont look at the name of the belt. Owens is the main champion on the main show. This is the big one.
