Sandow wasn't a great loss, but he had something very valuable on a roster filled with bland Cody Rhodes/Dolph Ziggler/Cesaro types -- the ability to be entertaining in whatever role he was given. Don't worry too much about the whole "SHOULDA BEEN WHC 4EVA" type stuff, different people online say that about everyone. It's a combination of our entitled generation and of WWE's constant booking the midcard to not matter. But in a perfect world, Sandow could've been a really good midcard guy along the lines of Mr Perfect. He could talk well, he could wrestle an entertaining match, and he always put in the effort when they gave him something to do. Personally, I think it's a shame that he wasn't kept around to do something during this brand split era. I think he would've been an awesome mid card staple like Hennig, but yeah the midcard sucks big time.

I think a big part is that he was super-over with the audience at Mizdow, and his potential feud with Miz could have been money for WWE. But when he finally turns on Miz in the Battle Royale, gets dumped for his troubles, and is completely abandoned by WWE. Which sucked. They had something good going for them that the fans got behind unexpectedly, and WWE decided to kill it. Could he have gone places and become a legit star? We'll never know. Personally, I wanted to see him get the chance he never got, and I think that's true for a lot of others, which is why we were bummed he got cut.

I was a big fan of his. He entertained me with his all of his gimmicks and I felt WWE dropped the ball with him on both his MITB run and his feud with The Miz.

I didn't mind Sandow, but I wasn't really effected by his release either. I think letting someone like Drew McIntyre go, was a much bigger case of injustice.

I loved his Genius Lanny Poffo type gimmick he had in 2012. He had so much potential with it but WWE as usual dropped the ball.

He should have won his cash in against Cena or won the Andre battle royal. The fact he won neither was a damn shame!
Was he WWE champion material. Not completely but I suspect he could've been built towards that or at the least as others have said taken the mr perfect, m$m, piper role of holding Midcard titles and be a guy who should've won the title but didn't.
When he won the MITB I have to say his dues with Cody was gold!
He had a lot to offer and sadly he was released yet we have plenty of wasted space in place such as Eva Marie still on the payroll.
I genuinely hope he does well in TNA and gets to come back to WWE down the line with better prospects.

I was a big fan of his gimmick for around the first year or so, but it's tough to care if the bookers give us no reason to.

I think guys like Sandow, Ryder, and Slater are literal examples of the WWE failing to listen and appease their own fanbase. The fans are trying to tell them, "LISTEN TO US! WE WANT [Insert name]!" and a great injustice is served when WWE ignores them, which only makes the fanbase louder and more passionate. I think if WWE were to ever seriously push them, they'd flame out very quickly.

Creative gave him terrible gimmicks to work with, almost hoping he would fail, and he got over with the fans time and time again.
All things considered, he made the best of what was given to him, and got electric pops from every crowd. It made no sense to cut him, what else could he have really done?

I loved the Intellectual Savior gimmick, and Team Rhodes Scholars. Always thought he was entertaining and one of the best talkers they had. He got stuck doing alot of nonsense after the failed cash in, and he still made a lot of it work. They had chances to salvage it and didnt for whatever reason.

We are in a golden generation of talent and pro-wrestling never stops. Did we care at the time? Yes. Are we going to mourn forever and never watch again? Don't be silly.
Sandow was a talented guy who deserved more but never got what he deserved. Unfortunately, life can be that way. He wasn't the first in this industry to experience that and won't be the last.

They even had absolutely no payoff for the whole "Mizdow" gimmick. He split from Miz, the crowd erupted, and it went nowhere.
There was so much buildup, but no payoff. Showed me that they were setting him up to fail with that gimmick from the start, and it backfired.
Then they just had him drop the gimmick and thank all of the fans for their support. It was really disappointing.

In the end, he was never an important enough star for it to make a huge different to the program that he was gone. But he always did his job to the best of his abilities, and there's plenty to admire him for there. I'm not sad he's left, I'm sad they didn't value him as much as he valued his job during the time he was there.

Right now Sandow in TNA is epitome of bland. What made Sandow interesting was his original gimmick and his way of turning chicken crap into chicken soup. When he comes out as regular dude....why should I be interested?

I thought that Sandow could've been great had they booked him properly. Sandow was hugely over as the stunt double and they didn't capitalize on his momentum.

He had potential but wasn't God, like most people on here act he is. I don't lose sleep at night because of his release.

I liked him pretty well, I'm not sure I ever saw a true main eventer in there, but he was a solid mid card hand. I also think it's unfair to claim that anyone could have done the stunt-double gimmick. He truly owned it with no shame, and people are currently giving Miz a lot of credit, but Sandow was way more over than Miz in the last several years. (Although Sandow could never hold the crowds attention for very long through any of his gimmicks)

Did he ever show much? The guy was fantastic. Everything he was given to do he excelled at it making it entertaining. He would have made a terrific Intercontinental Champion or United States Champion if he was ever given the chance. I would take Sandow over 90% of today's WWE roster any day of the week.
