I am not sure why the same suspects hate the Warrior? They could be honest, but I am thinking it has to do with his political stance and him being a conservative.

I guess the same could be said for E26 and the Warrior/Cena pack as well? lol No neither of those have a under $10 price, I've never seen a basic series UW last on shelves for over a week. That's a very good point. Come to think of it, I haven't seen a Warrior basic just sit either...from ANY set. But the higher the price point, the longer it takes to sell.

Warrior basics are popular. All of his elites except the overproduced E26 sell pretty good too. The BP w/ Cena and this DM? Not so much

I don't hate on Warrior, I hate on poor choices (an attire that very few remember him ever wearing) & not getting enough for the price (a regular elite with no special features for DM price). If it was a Warrior like the first Basic figure (green) with a purple strap Winged Eagle I'd buy a few.

I think that if Mattel had offered the macho man equivalent to this ultimate warrior as a defining moments piece instead of a regular elite, that this ultimate warrior would've flown off of shelves.
In a lot of ways it's like if Mattel decided to offer bubba Ray Dudley as a DM but it's corresponding Devon figure as an elite.
Either way I have a sneaky suspicion that the DM line will get revitalized after the WM 24 Ric Flair comes out.

If I saw an endcap like that in one of my stores I'd be gutted, because those will go nowhere, and you have no chance of seeing any the next 4+ waves.

The DM Line essentially died when Mattel decided to stop giving us legit accessories like the beautiful robe Ric Flair got, or even the coat that DM crow Sting came with.
People can say whatever they want about "they still have to tool and produce" these rubber accessories....well, they have to do that for the regular Elite line, but there is no reasoning for the DM's to be 24.99 just because it comes in a fancy box. Mattel decided to try and skate by on the NAME VALUE of the Superstars in the DM line thinking that if we just keep pumping out Sting, Cena, and Austin over and over and over again that people will be fooled. Well, it didn't work.
When Sasha Banks can be in the regular Elite line with a colorfully painted attire, a newly sculpted rubber jacket, newly sculpted glasses, necklace and Boss rings for $19.99....then there is no reason for Ultimate Warrior with nothing but sunglasses or USA Sting with nothing but a rubber jacket to be in the DM Line.
DM Line was supposed to be so that we could get accessories that the main Elite line wouldn't allow. Look at what the first few DM figures came with:
Macho Man: Hat, Sunglasses, awesome fabric jacket. HBK: Awesome fabric vest, awesome fabric jacket. Triple H: Cloth pants, cloth jacket/vest. Ultimate Warrior: Amazing cloth duster. Ricky Steamboat: Rubber accessories, but we got a headpiece, cape, arm gauntlets and the wand. The Rock: Cloth pants, cloth shirt, cloth Rock & Sock jacket. Bret Hart: Leather Jacket, belt, flag (sticker). Austin: Cloth shirt, cloth jacket, hat. Cena: Cloth shirt, cloth jersey, chain, two belts (Spinner + Cena's US)
Then DM Died and came back. Here's what the second version of this line has provided: Ric Flair: Amazing Robe, Title. Hogan: Rubber shirt, rubber headband, plastic necklace, belt. Razor Ramon: Rubber vest, plastic chain, Belt. Sting: Bat, awesome fabric coat. Undertaker: SDCC re-release. Not really their fault, Hogan got fired. BUT Hogan was really just a HOF repaint with all rubber accessories. Austin: Rubber vest, 3 belts (winged eagle, smoking skull, big eagle). USA Sting: Rubber coat. Ultimate Warrior: sunglasses Cena: Rubber top, visor, plastic chain, "word life" knuckles.
I think it's clear that the second run of the DM's has been nowhere near as impressive as the first.
I think it's time to kill the DM line and re-name it. Something having to do with entrance attires. I'm not saying call it Entrance Greats again, but instead of being Basics with the music boxes, have it be Elites with great entrance accessories so we can get things like:
Enzo Amore in his entrance gear. No way to do this in a Regular Elite. Charlotte with her robe. Sting with colorful cloth robes. Cesaro with his suit. Anderson and Gallows with their dusters. New Day with all their gimmicks.
I feel like if you keep it "Defining Moments' they are going to keep pumping out the same 5 guys because let's face it....Enzo, Cesaro, Charlotte....they aren't legends with Defining Moments, but we need to be able to get legit accessories for CURRENT superstars as well.

The only saving grace is probably the new Ric Flair from Wrestlemania 24 with that beautiful robe. That figure has redeemed my faith in the line but I think Mattel will drop the ball again. I don't see why they don't do current stars in the line too. For example the White Rollins with both titles and vest would definitely qualify as a DM if Sting (GAB) and Warrior (ultimate maniacs) did and it would probably sell better but I guess that wouldn't happen now as it's in the Elite line with only the one title and vest. If Mattel are running out of ideas, current stars is an area for them to explore, they could also do a Wrestlemania 32 Charlotte with the robe and title. The reason it suits Charlotte and Rollins well is because that was their careers defining moment (Rollins also could have his Mania 31 with briefcase, belt and vest, which the tru exclusive was missing). I don't think it necessarily needs to be a legend every time. I still don't see how the Ultimate Maniacs Warrior qualified as a DM but Savage never as he had more accessories, Warrior is more detailed on the singlet but no more so than Elite 26 was and that was in the standard Elite series.

I know people are going to dispute this, but E26 was actually MORE detailed than the DM. The DM was like 3 colors plus Warrior's pigment and eyes and stuff. E26 has at least 8 plus multi colored hairwash

Anderson and Gallows with their dusters. New Day with all their gimmicks. If recent E44 Big E can have a duster, then there's no reason to put Dr. Anderson & Dr. Gallows in a new line to get this. Other wise we'll be facing the same resistance from Ultimate Maniacs Warrior being in a DM line when it could have been an Elite. There is also the New Day 3-pack coming with Llama penises, Francesca, new sculpted items.

The special dm warrior from the video game was awesome, why would you want a warrior with a crapty mask in a trench coat?
