There used to be a thread for these long ago. Let's show off those movie collections, I'll start.

Impressive collection. I used to have a pretty nice collection. I would literally buy anything and everything. But I eventually realized that I rarely watched special features outside of certain films and decided to downsize dramatically. I utilized vudus disc to digital service and pretty much transferred my entire collection to digital. I have around 3000 digital movies and still own all the movies that are my favorites on blu ray and dvd. So if anyone has any digital codes lying around I'll gladly take them haha. Sometimes I miss the hobby but I love the ease of always having my collection on hand.

My brother has literally a closet and a curio cabinet and a 5 tier shelf full of DVD's and Blu-Rays. He is a huge movie buff. He never watches most of them though

Had around 4,500 DVDs (not counting wrestling) at one point. Have since dramatically downsized to about 300ish. Been working on converting most my media collection to digital. In the midst of the wrestling right now, with movies to follow. Gonna keep the most important discs as backups, but plan on getting rid of about half yet.

And yes, some say the picture quality isn't as good. But in all honesty, with the speed of my internet, the HDX movies on vudu are barely noticable below blu ray quality.

I used to have a lot of DVDs/Blu Rays for movies, but then I got a few of those online streaming sites, like Netflix, and Shomi and I figured with movies always being on there, I could sell some of my DVDs and Blu Rays, make some extra cash, and use that to buy wrestling figures.
It was a wise choice for me. If I am gonna sit and look at something on a shelving unit, I rather it be wrestling figures than DVDs or Blu Rays. But you have a pretty bad ass collection going for ya! Well done!

I'm not even that concerned with picture quality as I think DVD quality was pretty danged good. Heck, I still rock some old wrestling footage dubbed from VHS. Actually kinda like the nostalgia factor of it from time to time.

I used to have about 530 Criterion DVDs & Blu-Rays. Down to about 200. I've narrowed my collection down to quality from quantity.

I used to have at least 600 or so DVDs but now after selling them ( and even dumping some), I have about 20 stragglers, which are either my favorite films that aren't on blu ray (Bubba Ho Tep, which is soon to be corrected, Death to Smoochy, Murder Party), or expensive Pixar films that I have yet to upgrade. Have a Bluray collection of about 90 or more. Only buy films that I love anymore. I used to buy a lot of trash My current collection can be found here letterboxd.com/yayo/list/blu-ray-collection/
