What would you guess?
nothing in WWE is ever set in stone, so..
will Kevin Owens and AJ Styles title reigns end up being transitional or long term?
personally i'm thinking they go to at least WM with Owens taking on Lesnar and Styles taking on Cena.

I said last night that everything they've done so far has led me to believe that the Cena/Styles feud is far from over. AJ getting the title seems to be setting up for Cena's return, where I could see him winning his 16th championship at Survivor Series. I really, really hope that I'm wrong, but I just remain extremely skeptical that John Cena would lose cleanly and have that be the end of it. It seems like him losing at SummerSlam was just a way to write him off as he questions if he still has enough in the tank while he works a lighter schedule, only for him to make a triumphant return and tie Flair's record as a reminder that Cena isn't done yet.

I hope Styles' is a good one, but Owens' doesn't matter to me. He isn't on the caliber of Styles, Reigns, or Rollins as champions.

I can see AJ having the belt till at least the Rumble. Owens was more cause Balor is injured. I see Rollins getting the belt soon

If the reports are true, John Cena isn't working Survivor Series. It would be a major disservice having both Kevin Owens and AJ Styles as transitional champions. Given how other both are, it would be a detriment for both men to be mere transitional champions. In a perfect world, both men should have a 6-12 month run as champion. Not to mention, both have been hitting home runs. Something we haven't seen in some time. |

AJ is only holding the belt until Cena comes back. That's pretty much a guarantee.
Owens could go either way. I feel like that is more of a lets see how this goes situation. He could drop the belt in a month or two. But he could also end up being a Seth Rollins like situation where he holds the belt for 6 months or more.
I'm hoping he holds it until the rumble and he faces Lesnar there.

I have a weird feeling that Owens will be a transitional champ. Im guessing he makes it to around December as champ. Im not sure he makes it to Mania. I have to imagine the plan is Rollins as champ vs a returning Finn Balor is the plan for the Universal title at Mania. Also Lesnar vs. Owens is prob less marketable than a Lesnar vs. Rollins rematch at the Rumble.
I have a feeling Styles retains until Mania where he probably loses it to Cena for his 16th title win.

OK AJ makes history. He defeats Cena twice and then goes on to win the WWE title. Now Cena will not stay lying down so when he returns he will defeat AJ and finally tie Flairs record.
It's the first thing I thought when he won.

Hopefully Styles runs with it until Mania, where JC beats him.
Owens, I'm not sure. For me, the WrestleMania Raw title match should be Lesnar defending against Nakamura. Right now, I can't picture Owens vs Reigns or Owens vs anyone as a WM main event, so I think he loses it well before then.

AJ should hold it until the Rumble at least.
KO at least til Survivor Series. Or the Rumble. Longevity is key. No need to drop the belt from either guy.

I really hope Styles doesn't end up dropping the belt to Cena. I think if AJ can stay healthy, he could hold onto the title for awhile.
Owens on the other hand just seems like the only obvious choice since Balor was injured. I'd say he'll end up dropping it at some point to Rollins, setting up Triple H/Rollins at Wrestlemania, most likely.
Time will tell.

I thought I read somewhere that Owens was losing the title at Clash of Champions.
Not sure how realistic that news is though, but it's what I saw a few days ago online.

Well, given that Owens clearly wasn't their first choice for the UC, I'd have to assume he only has it while they work out what to do now that their plans for Balor are on ice.
AJ seems to have been building towards this and it seems to be a crucial element to his on-going feud with Cena who is about to become the 16x champ. One can only assume they want Cena to tie Flair's record at WrestleMania so I would have thought that's when Styles will drop it.
