I have been in the eye roll at Reigns push camp for a while now, but a recent episode of Talk is Jericho really cast him in a new light.
Jericho and Balor went out of their way to gush over Reigns for a good three minutes or so, saying that they both were surprised how talented and easy to work with he is.
The compliments really seemed to come from a genuine place, and both guys wished that the fans would recognize his talent as well.
We have already seen with John Cena, and now Reigns, that if WWE wants to push a mega baby face, fans booing won't stop them from it. For those who boo, is it to show disapproval of Reigns, or the direction of the product?
Is it time to give Reigns an actual chance? Do the comments of these two stars of their profession change your outlook on Reigns? Thanks for reading. I am looking forward to some insight on the topic.

For me, its never been about Roman the person, but entirely about Roman the character. I didn't enjoy the undeserving push he received that the WWE forced on us and tested my intelligence. He can be in great matches with the right people, but he's hot garbage on the mic. So for all that time he was needlessly pushed, he has been completely burnt out for me and I would enjoy nothing more than to never see him in the Main Event scene again. He's a Mid-Card kinda guy and that's where he belongs and should stay.
And I'm still annoyed that during the Royal Rumble '16 during AJ's debuting entrance the camera was focused on Roman making goofy ass faces.

I can respect the hard working man behind the character. I just hate any time that WWE decides to shove something down my throat when it clearly is not getting over with the crowd. Its just insulting to see them continue to push a guy, when others are getting over much more. 2015 was one of the worst years in wrestling imo, but the best part for me was when Reigns was out of the title picture during the middle of the year.

Reigns has completely come into his own as a worker, and he's had world class matches with mutliple opponents. The problem is not his in-ring work, the problem is that his character is unlikeable ahd his moveset is conducive to a heel persona.
He could potentially get over as a babyface at some point, but not until WWE figures out that he isn't, and will never be an underdog. They have an issue with not knowing how to book a babyface who isn't the come-from-behind hero. Reigns can't be that guy, and when they try to make him that guy, it comes off as forced and fake and the fans reject it. He's a natural heel, so put him in the role he was born to play.
It's the same conundrum they had with Cena. The work was there, but his character got stale and they couldn't reinvent him (and I don't mean a heel turn in his case.) The difference is that Cena was often able to bail himself out on the microphone, and Roman can't do that.

I see people say his push is undeserving, but what makes his push undeserving but Kevin Owens' push not?

I was already a fan of Roman.
Roman had a better match with AJ Styles than Dean Ambrose did. So, Roman > Dean.

I never had a problem with Reigns. I think he can work with the best of them and never look out of place.
I do think his booking is the main problem. I still think he'd be over like crazy as a monster heel.

Roman Reign's being grommed as the face of the company is nothing more than an urban myth. Seth Rollins was the one who got the belt first and he was the choosen one by the Authority not Reigns so I don't get why people claim he's undeserving of his spot.
Reigns is liked by the locker room and has yet to hurt someone so I believe it's time to give the man a chance.

And then when they edited it, it still showed too much Roman.

I think Roman Reigns gets a lot of unneeded hate. When he was in The Shield, people loved him. And maybe Dean and Seth had a big influence in that, but fans always popped for the Shield power bomb that they did, and that was all Roman at the end.
I don't hate Roman, I don't like him either though. He is kind of just 'there' for me. He has had some great matches with the likes of AJ Styles and Seth Rollins though.

I don't hate Roman Reigns but, I don't like Roman Reigns and I never will. Nothing that man can do will put me in his bandwagon, then, now, forever.

If you don't think that Reigns was groomed or pushed hard to be the #1 guy in the company in the past 3 years, I seriously don't think you've been watching the product. It's not a myth, it was blatantly happening. Nobody else that I've ever seen in wrestling got a push like he did in the past decade. The original plan was to have him go over Brock at Mania 31. If the fans weren't as vocal as they were it would be an entirely different story.

I see people say his push is undeserving, but what makes his push undeserving but Kevin Owens' push not? Owen's whether you like him or not has his own personality. He can be iffy off the mic (mainly due to his accent) but for the most part, his character is himself x10, and that allows the audience to really react to him. Owen's has busted his hump prior to NXT, then established NXT as a touring brand, came up to Raw and even though he was booked horribly at first, he has overcome it and continues to grow into the character. Reigns has had about 4 years now, and still hasn't been able to muster up his own personality or generic charisma. He's decent in the ring but other than that he has ZERO going for him.

Also the rumours about Reigns being pushed as the guy started way before The Shield even split. Yes Roman Reign got a huge push but fans hyped it up which made people turn against him. He waited 18 months to get the title after the Shield split.
