I am ALWAYS getting an urge to sell all my WWE figs... from my girlfriend. What's her issue with them? I'm asking because I've been into stuff for years and I hear this constantly. I play guitar, guys are always mentioning their wives complaining about their gear. I'm also a horror movie buff, hear the same about movies and horror collectibles too. Wanna know the couples that seem to work out (not a judgement on your and yours, just saying for convo sake)? Ones that don't complain constantly about things that make their significant other happy. I've been dating my GF now for about 8 years, with marriage looming. We allow each other to buy whatever we want, as long as the bills are paid and there is very little complaining about it. I wouldn't date someone that's NOT like that. Then again, I'm 36 and have a lot less tolerance toward stuff like this than I did in my 20s or teens. LOL

So, the hobby itself doesn't bother her, just the collateral damage...

She doesn't have an issue with the hobby itself, but the fact that I have boxes upon boxes that have filled up my half of the garage. I just bought a brand new Jeep not long ago, and she'd like me to park it inside instead of in the driveway. But then where would I put my stuff?! Every single day. As the paint apps. get worse and worse it is hard to justify the $20+ price. Paint doesn't not bother me, I just pick through and buy a decent one as we never really struggle over here for the new figs. The price point doesn't bother me either, not being funny but if I saw a £20 note fluttering down the road I wouldn't chase it, £20 is nothing these days, I went in five guys the other day with my Mrs and it was £40! For burger and fries and a drink!

So many Elite boxes kicking around that it's tough to walk around in the room that used to be our shared office space. The original shelf space I had was filled up so fast with the Defining Moments releases. And the new Elite boxes having a slanted top prevent me from stacking vertically any new MOCs I keep. The struggle is real.

When something I collect has value it's easier to justify the space and keeping them, when my collection now has the value of lined paper and is no longer desirable the justification for the time and space to keep them is beginning to no longer be worth it. If anyone says it doesn't matter what there value is they are lying to themselves because it's challenging at best to build a collection and not only there value but there quality continues to go down

Yeah, I feel like selling my Daniel Bryan collection. Taking up too much space.

Trust me, with all of my collecting I've heard that same stuff about space, but I can usually configure everything so that there is more space. There are always a few times of year I have to "clean up" as boxes and things have started to coillect and become a nuisance and need to be thrown away. When I started collecting figs again I was planning on keeping everything MOC, then I realized the space that was going to require, so I just started opening most of them and posing them on shelves instead.

Never have. Collecting is my hobby, relieves stress, brings joy, and many of my friends also enjoy it too. As they can't collect like I do. So they often help look for things and also come hang out and check out new additions.

sometimes I do get the urge to sell the whole collection, but then I decide not to, because there is so much of a great stuff yet to come from Mattel - so I stick around.

Great question and the answer is yes, every couple of weeks actually. Then I look at RSC exclusive Austin or WrestleMania Elite Michaels and I'm all like...nah I'm keeping these.
I still think I'll sell everybody who debuted after 2002 someday. As an Attitude Era guy, do I really Bo Dallas or Santino?

This is what I might keep post 2002: select attires from Punk, Daniels, and former Shield members. One of each Wyatt member. Probably all Divas. Elites of recent or new NXT callups if I'm into them. No more craziness like owning a dozen basic Zigglers.

I've had that feeling for the last few months. I just got hit with a few hospital bills that most of my insurance covered, but they were for major surgeries, so I owe a lot of what didn't get covered. Long story short, the urge to buy or even "play" with figures has gone away completely.

I sold a decent amount while I was out of work injured. Now that I've returned to work I'll probably start buying again.
