This movie didn't have any business being as good as it was.. I enjoyed everything UP until the climatic final battle, which I found to be rushed and messy.
Other than that I had fun.. It was awesome watching the Power Rangers in 2017.

Great! Billy,Jason and Kimberly were standouts.I don't need oscar worthy for something called Power Rangers, I just needed this to be fun with solid casting for the rangers and it was.

It was awesome watching the Power Rangers in 2017. Word, I said this WORD FOR WORD to my brother after we left the theatre last night. I was so pleasantly surprised by how good this was. A few gripes, like the training montage in the middle just feeling "awkward"... but otherwise, it all WORKED.

I liked it a lot. It was as good of a power ranger movie that could be made. Went in with low expectations and left entertained.
Btw, the actress who played the pink ranger is drop dead gorgeous. Beautiful young woman.

I legit loved the movie. I have no shame saying that I was wrong with my past posts. I'm still not big on the suits but the story was good and it was a fun pop corn flick that hit the nostalgia spot hard.

I thought it was freaking awesome. I agree the suits are still a goof but I loved it. I thought they told the story really well in forming the group and everything largely had a purpose while tying into the mythos of the show.
I dug the third act. The boss fight was badass imo. That after credits scene was on point too. Just a great time at the movies imo.

I really liked it besides Rita. Everyone else was taking the material seriously and trying, and Banks was so misguided how she played and approached the role. Razzie worthy performance by her. Everything else was solid. I liked how they took time to develop the characters before throwing all the action in.

Elizabeth Banks is extremely overrated anyways.. Not surprised that people think she was the weakest part of the movie.. I've never been overly impressed by anything she's done, even though she gets a ton of praise.

I thought Banks was great. She's good at the theatrical type of characters imo. That's kind of becoming her forte to some degree after being so good as Effie. Not relevant here, but I would say she's under rated as a comedic actor. She's great in stuff like Walk of Shame and Pitch Perfect. I wouldn't consider her a great actor or someone people think is a great actor, but I think she's good at what she does.
Most of the response I've seen in regards to her in Power Rangers is that she was the stand out actor of the film. It was largely by default in working with such a young cast, but I really don't feel I can argue that point. I thought she was villainous in every way. I liked the idea of her growing from this basic animal instinct character leeching off of the gold until she finally became herself again. The interaction between her and Trini was an awesome scene from both actors. I never questioned her motivation or intent, either.
I didn't see an issue with Banks, and I thought she was a perfect counterpart to both Zordon and the Rangers. I also absolutely loved the new origin story tying them together. This is aside from acting, but it really gives Rita motivation to keep being apart of the Rangers story. She's not just an alien from space hellbent on destroying the world. She's apart of Zordon and apart of every single one of those kids now.
