Figures are always worth as much as you are willing to pay for them, or sell them for. I hate when people say, "go to eBay and check it out." Because at times, people on eBay are jerks and sell things for way too high of price, and people look it up, notice they too have said item and think its actually worth that much, when its really not. And that's why you look at Sold listings....

So if you are looking to sell your Elite Series 1 Willy Wonka and according to eBay sold listings, 10x Elite Series 1 Willy Wonka figures all sold for $75, that you wouldn't try and sell him for $75?! Surely looking at eBay sold listings gives you an indication of what people are willing to pay for said figure slash what he is "worth" on the secondary market?! Sure, of course someone is gonna sell it for $75 or more if they saw that's how much it sold for on eBay. But eBay is still not a price guide for things. Back in the early 90s and such, when eBay wasn't around, how did it work then?? People made up their own worth for said items to sell.

It sounds like you dug yourself an underground bunker in the early 90s and haven't come up yet. Not sure why someone should stick to methods used nearly 30 years ago. And like you said yourself "things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them" well eBay tells you that exact information (with regards to the secondary market - the same market that the OP will be using).
