I'm part of the small group that loved RZ Halloween.
The second one on the other hand I liked but the story was so off the wall. It was NOT a Halloween film.

hasn't Carpenter himself confirmed they are going forward with a new film?
I'm sure if Carpenter is involved it will be good.

Yes Carpentar is supposed to be involved with this one. I'm hoping he'll have enough patience to tie H4-6 to H20 and stuff. I don't think he would do a "stand alone." I was really pissed to read the supposed storyline to be honest haha. I think a stand alone film would only serve to make the audience want more. With Carpentar being involved, I think this will be the last Halloween.
Suckasays, I like your idea. It's sort of what I was trying to go for. Ad honestly the part about including a nod to H3 was cool too! I mean we all have to agree that with 8 Halloween films, it's weird to have 1 stick out as having nothing to do with the series. It's just hilarious truthfully.
Who else would legit crap if Halloween 9 was a sequel to Season of the Witch? Like if the film had absolutely nothing to do with Michael Myers hahaha. It's something that popped into my head a few days ago. I mean I don't think it'd happen but boy would it throw us through a loop.
Anyway, like I said, I think with John coming back it will be good. I hope he feels the same way I do about connecting it all together. Crossing my fingers they can pull out all the stops and bring Hartnett, Curtis and Harris back. Of coarse Curtis and Harris would be a "ghost" scenario of some sort. And also possibly Ryan Mitchell who playe Dr. Winn in H6. I'd love to see Paul Rudd but I'm not quite sure if he'd do the film. I think we're more likely to see Harris or Jamie Lee if they promise to kill Michael off for good. It'd just tickle me as a fan to see the "family" together in one film with the original actors/actresses.

I was just rethinking this the other day. Wouldn't it be cool to do a Halloween with some flashbacks to explain/connect H20 and H4,5 & 6!
I was pondering about it after watching Danielle Harris on a new show called Death Tour or something. She always seems willing to do Halloween movies and junk. It would be grand to have her play Laurie Strode in some flashbacks? They could explain how Laurie faked her death, left Jamie Lloyd and moved to California. I'd love to see as many surviving Hallowen characters as possible in the movie.
Or....here is my other idea for Halloween 9.....do a bunch of trailers with Myers. Like all the really cool gory trailers...then have the movie open up in theaters and be a sequel to Season of the Witch hahaha

I liked them when they first came out but I was a lousy 16/17 year old haha. I feel like his movies tried to capitalize on the grungy, teen, heavy metal genre. How anyone can favor Zombie’s Halloween over Halloween 6 or even Season of the Witch is beyond me!
