I didn't pre order. I was planning on getting it at launch. But the fact that Mario isn't coming out until the holidays buys me time. If I fall into one at launch, great. But I'm not gonna go crazy to get one. I guess it depends on how reviews are. Specifically Zelda. As I don't really have any interest in the other launch games they announced.

I missed the days when Nintendo was a console first and a gimmick second.

As is the case for every Nintendo device since the GameCube, I will be getting this. I personally feel that the Wii U will go down as one of the most underrated consoles of all time due to the horrible choice of naming it the Wii U. I hope this a good follow up that sells better. People exaggerate how great PlayStation 4 and XBox One are. I have all three current gen consoles and Wii U is the only one that hasn't given me any problems or bored me to death. I play XB1 casually and have stopped playing PS4 altogether, but I still play Wii U religiously, even after four years. It's a criminally underrated console. I'm completely sold on the Switch and plan on pre-ordering it as soon as it becomes available. PS4 is about all I play. There's always a game that keeps me entertained. Along with VR support, it's makes for a well rounded home entertainment behemoth. I had a Wii U, but it's so gimmickly; it took TTL to make it relevant with amibos and that weird paint splashing game. I miss experiencing Zelda games and there are a few exclusives I'd like to play, like Xenoblade, but nothing that will turn me into a Nintendo fanboy again. I do agree with you, my XboxOne just collects dust lol.

Everyone is sold out. I knew it would. That's why I went to GameStop the morning pre-orders went live. I wonder when the second wave of Switches will go out?

Knowing we're finally getting a new console Fire Emblem game after what will have been ten years will help to draw me in to this thing.

Fire Emblem is the rare Nintendo IP that I don't care about at all, but I'm always happy to see people excited about something Nintendo's doing. I tried to the first one on GBA, and it just wasn't for me.

I'm amazed at how much the series has blown up in recent years, especially since I don't really think the changes they've made in the past couple of games are what would typically draw in the more casual crowd.

Well, the event was pretty underwhelming for me personally but I'm a fanboy so of course I've already pre-ordered. I've never really loved the big 3-D Zelda games. So, Breath of the Wild being the only game available at launch made the event sorta "meh" to me. That said, I'm really interested in this one just because I like big, open world experiences. So, even in saying it was underwhelming, it still gave me something to be excited about... I just wish more games were available at launch. Not even the Mario Kart 8 port is gonna be on launch day. I pre-ordered Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey on Amazon... Got the console on Best Buy. Now, we play the waiting game...The waiting game sucks. Let's play Hungry, Hungry, Hippos.

the Wired Hori Controller that Hori made seems to have dissapeared from every UK store! Is it still available in the USA? Honestly would not surprise me if Nintendo pulled the plug on this as it was under half the price of their disgustingly overpriced pro controller.

I do agree with you, my XboxOne just collects dust lol. Same. I don't have my Wii U anymore, and that's a console I actually bought twice (and regretted buying a month after, both times). The Wii U had a couple of games I loved (Splatoon and Mario Kart 8), while everything else just felt like shades of Nintendo's past. Smash Bros didn't offer any real single player content this time (what was there was poorly implemented), both of the big Mario games were huge step downs from Galaxy, and the only original Zelda game was a freaking Dynasty Warriors spin off. Then there was only Pokemon game (an arcade port they stopped supporting), no Metroid game, and the better of the two Star Fox games was the free pack-in. I'm also not a fan of 2D Donkey King, and games like Yoshi's Wooly World simply aren't there for me. I really wanted to love the Wii U, but it was a massive failure in my eyes. The main reason I paid off the Switch was because of how much GS was giving me for the Wii U (a console I had sitting in a box for 5 months at the time) and because I want Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2 at the very least. I'm still extremely cautiously optimistic about it, but as long as Nintendo actually releases some consistent first party games (and some exclusives from their third parties ala GameCube) I'll be happy with the Switch. The PS4 is definitely my most used console, though. Hell, just yesterday alone it got Resident Evil and THREE exclusive games. That's like the Wii U's calendar year lineup

I never did get around to the Wii U. Here's hoping this doesn't flop nearly as bad.

Can't wait for the Switch! My wallet is crying, but I'm excited I have the Switch, Bomberman, and Zelda Special Edition (not Master Edition) all pre-ordered. I'm hyped for Mario, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (battle mode looks great), and some others. Fire Emblem coming to the Switch is awesome, and I have my fingers crossed for a true Pokémon game to come to the Switch. I still feel for $300 it should have came bundled with that 1,2, Switch game though, but oh well I'm excited for it.
